it would be interesting to know actually if the climb up the hill at the 'ring is as demanding as a top speed run at brunters?
i've only ever driven it in relatively low powered cars where it is full throttle for a long time, but may not be in something more powerful. perhaps some input from mike rainbird would be useful? haven't seen him on here for a while

My reply to Barry Gti's comment about doing 10 laps was me meaning 10 laps of a 2 to 3 mile UK circuit and not the 13mile 'ring!
The main straight is 1.5miles long (from exiting last corner to turn in at first left hand curve after bridge) and takes Derek Bells 956 30seconds (ave.180mph) or 22seconds from Gantry to Bridge (1.05miles - ave.172mph), its maxxed out at 195mph. 650hp & 1000kgs with driver/fuel.
Taking the left hand kink under the bridge whilst going over a brow at 215mph (1.3miles starting at 90mph) could be fatal in an almost flying saph!
Up the hill, said driver/956 is already doing 175mph in 5th at the first left hand kink and it takes him 26 seconds from exiting Bergwerk @85mph? to turning in @135mph? (after braking) into the first left hander (with cobblestones)!
Thats 1.2miles AVERAGING 166mph........
There is no way Rods saph would still be on the road at 180 up there with major aero lift, bumps and curves it'll end up in a tree, the 956 has high downforce to stay on the road thats why you'll never get a really low lap time without downforce.
I've driven a 400hp RS500 and 300hp exige around the 'ring, both are no good really especially the exige as it has no downforce and always feels tip toeing or airbourne due its greater speed and lower weight. My 500 with half Rods bhp was great fun but not very effective in its lap times (did 8:24 with T34 / 330hp).
I think Gareth Lloyds escos, Martins escos or Andy's focus should do sub 7 minutes BtoG or are they too chicken.........

I think everyone needs to pop to the toilet and knock one out then come back with a clear head....

never been round the ring but think my focus would be too stiff for it,,,,,, still be fun thou!

I used to go on me R1....andy you should go over and have a bit play with the viper lamans car that takes people round the track..
It scared the shit out of me...Flat out on R1 and it comes out of nowere and round the outside on a corner....its f**king mad to watch...lol

the last time i spoke to my mate in the pub with the khill lap record he said he was realy shitin it that andy would beat his lap record,i can't wait to tell him about the new engine

yes it did, but i won't go into anything else on here as i'm always wrong no matter what i say.
