wow i have never had this much attention,
Sorry over the confusion and the excess typing,I was led to believe it was a mk3 and i knew it had xr3 bumpers put on ,The log book states its a escort firefly which doesnt mean nothing to me
.All i no i wanted a nice reliable car that was easy to work on and to get me too and back from work,(mind you i have only ever needed to service it and a new battery a couple of months ago).
Still i lost £8 as my listing was cancled,i think i will put it as a "1988 escort firefly"as i still dont want some cash sitting in my garage,hopefully i will not get bombarded with emailsbut you never no.

the diffence between the mk3/m4 is the front end, dash, whole interior, engine (mk3 has oil cooler on cvh engines) this is definatly a mk4.. i have owned loads of them the mk4s came out on a D-reg and finished on a G-reg

Hi, your sort of right with saying its a mk3 face lift as it was indeed a mk3 face lift but Ford labeled the face lift as a new model ie the mk4. MK5 followed in 1990 and then was soon after updated with the mk5b and this was later replaced by the mk6, albeit looking very similar to the mk5/5b but alittle more curvy around the edges and a redesigned and more modern feel to the interior. I think whats throwing you off course slightly is the two links you've posted up are both oversea's ie American links....they often get their facts alittle muddled as their models sometime's cross paths with ours...for example they still had the mk1 Sierra on sale (in Merkur guise) up until the mid 90's where as over here it was brought off sale in 1986/7 except for the RS500 which was on sale in '87 but sold along side the face lifted mk2. Try a google search but do just a UK search only.

please,enough ok! it is a mk4. i can say with leading authority this is definetly and genuinely a mk4. not a mk3 facelift. if you change your listing you may find it will sell. some people tcch!

The car you are selling is a mk4 XR3i not a mk3. I run the XROC Northern branch and know this to be correct. The mk4 started in around 1987 on a D plate, so yours being an F it is definitely a mk4. Hope this helps your listing and good luck with the sale.

lol ,yeah most of the emails were def polite and were just trying to point me in the right direction,but as most blokes dont like to be wrong , i scoured the net to try and find someone on my side,shame i only found it from across the pond,

aint got a clue,I no he came from southend,essex way,came round looked at it,gave me the cash i wanted and drove off,
