whos using water methonal injection
whats the pros and cons of using water methonal injection as im thinking of using this, as a friend of mine is going to use it and says its a great thing to have for less det and more power gains

sweet are you thinking of running it too ?? i havent really seen many people using it and wanna know if there are any risks ? if it was that good why isnt every one using it ?

Water/methanol injection can be used to win back some of what is lost when using a very poor intercooler. The right thing to do is have proper charge cooling with a good enough intercooler, not to introduce water or a water/meth mix into the engine.

You mean adding Methanol to your WI tank as a water substitute. No 50bhp Power increase be assured ive used it for many years. Its more efficient than Water so will lose less Power than WI. Get a proper intercooler you should not be getting a prob on such a small turbo.

You appear to be confusing using methanol in the WI system with using Methanol as a fuel, this would require an engine Specced to use it are you sure its not your pal thats on the meths.
To repeat----------
The Methanol is only injected when Charge air is over 40c & when boost is applied so it should not be working under normal circumstances if it does you have an Intercooler problem. On mine its only comes on under extended time on full throttle & when using 35+psi , you should not require this method of controlling the CA on anything other than very high Powered cars.
It cant make Power only you may lose less than with water or leaving the ECU to cut Power.

First of all you will need to at least double your injector size as you will require 2.2 times the amount of methanol as petrol per cycle.
Secondly, you will need to replace the WHOLE fuel system as methanol is highly corrosive and will literally disolve the lining of your fuel tank, fuel lines and all the seals/o-rings within.
Thirdly, methanol is toxic, so obtaining it, storing it, handling it etc. can and in most cases, will be difficult.
To give you an idea, a 900+bhp Evo 4G63 engine on methanol was approaching 90% duty cycle on 8 1600cc injectors whilst running over 40psi on a T88 Giken turbocharger - that equated to a 20 litres of fuel consumption per minute at wide open throttle!!!
