3 Door Boot light switch
I just got my boot and spoiler painted and the boot was taken off the car.
The warning light on the display inside the car now flashs for about a minute when ignition is turned on for the boot which means its not connected i think?
Where is the switch or what switchs the boot light on and off?
Cheers

For the luggage lam, it's a tilt switch in the main body of the hatch and you need to take the trim off to get to it - it's held on with a single screw and a spade connector for the wire.
Another thing to check is where the wire passes from roof to tailgate. The cables are old and brittle now, so it doesn't take much to break them and the painter could have damaged the wire when removing the hatch and not even realise.
However, the door ajar is controlled by a microswitch on the tailgate lock.

As above, just to add, the mercury tilt switches are famous for setting off car alarms, in the summer, with the mercury expanding and giving a slight earth path, not enough to put light on but is registered by alarm, my dad's 4i was always doing it as my 4i.
