Mate of mine is wanting to put an E36 M3 lump into his E30 325i - does anyone know of any conversion guides or good articles on it?

Cheers

my mate put a E36 M3 evo lump in his E30 318i, it was a very quick car. It was a fairly straight full convertion. I think he used a sump off a 525i took of the power steering and fitted an aftermarket pedal box. Would really recommend doing it. He had a few races with a modified E46 M3 CSL and blew him away.

go to www.e30zone.net for several long threads with this conversion.the best starting point is a 325 or a touring as they have the heavier duty 51mm suspension and disc brakes all around.

Sign up to www.e30zone.net very friendly bunch who will be only to happy to help you out. This conversion was completed recently by a user one the forum.

Other users are having good fun with the 24v engines from the e36 2.5 and also the easily bhp increased 328i

Don't just disregard the m20 lump though, company called a-tech do mad stuff by turbo'ing them.

He'll know what you need or I think it's prob covered on the engine conversion section on the zone (havent been on there since I had mine)

Ta! Found a good build guide on E30 zone - Martyn asked me to have a look cos hes doing the conversion on his after Restall took his car round Brands on Monday. Pottering around the warm up lap apparently & now the engines f*cked, pottering around the red line more like ha ha
