HAHAHAHA - I read your post and thought to myself, bet that was pretty deep when it went pop. Then read Ginges none diver reply. Then laughed my balls off at urs back...

Water pressure at that depth straight into a burst ear drum, followed by decompression stops to get to the surface. How long from pop till surface?

Sounds sore

Broke the upper part of my arm by doing shot put back at school. Turned out I had so sort of cyst in the bone which ment it had a great hole in the middle. Ended up with trapped nervs and them only giving me a sling for it. Hardly any sleep for a few month or able to move.

Ingrown big toe nail removed at sea without anaesthetic or the right tools so it broke up and had to endure the doc picking out the bits of root bit by bit while 3 nurses held me down

I gave up trying with the useless cunts and just try to get on with life as best I can now. Hope you get it sorted mate cos it aint nice to live with.

I also broke my collar bone when riding my mtb at night when I was about 16. I was racing a mate along cliff tops and hit a huge pile of gravel in the middle of the path, they were re surfacing it, and I went up about 12 feet and clattered to the floor landing with my shoulder on a rock. I heard it snap as I skidded along on my face. Hospital X Rayed me and couldnt see a break so I went home and went to get into bed and as I lay down I felt the bone dislodge and poke backwards into my shoulder. I screamed in agony and couldnt move. 8 weeks sleeping upright in a chair was shit, for the first week or so it was agony to even walk about as the movement of that made the bone scrape about.

Whats your symptoms mate? Feel sorry for ya suffering this long.

I just went to A&E (Been having very bad pains this week and thought fuck it), waited for 2 hours (My panic attacks kick in within 5mins, so waiting 2 hours for me is an achievement!). They gave me Buscopan and Paracetamol to stop the pains (I carry buscopan round and this made me worse last week), then took blood. For the next 1hour and a half NOT ONE PERSON went into the back to get seen. I asked how long the wait was and 2 people were in front of me, so I walked out... My panic attacks are hard to deal with at the best of times. Cost me £4 on parking for absolutely nothing

Gonna continue down the private health care route....

got over that then got kidney stones same again pain was horible passed out a few times and fell down the stairs not good was on pethidine and tramadol again good shit totaly off my face for months lol but if i missed one tablet it would take days to get rid of the pain

fingers crossed both seem to have passed now

last year i was unloading the balast out of a test car and it slipped off the seat on to the floor trapping my finger against the floor and it ripped my finger nail clean off hurt like fuck made me feel sick instantly took 3 months to start healing properly

I used to get severe stomach pains, doubling me up wherever I was. Vomiting from them sometimes. It would last 10 mins to 4 hours. I spent a lot of time off work, and just stayed in bed curled up in a ball in agony. Nothing I ate would stay in me, one way or the other, and certain things used to make me worse than others. I tried a few different tablets from the doctors, buscopan and mebeverine are 2 I remember. Nothing helped at all so I now just get on with it, Im often tempted to go and try again to get it sorted but can't be arsed with the hassle.

Im sure I started an IBS thread ages ago, Ill see if I can find it.

Ive had some pretty bad injurys in me time the worsed being when i nearly lost my arm but i can honestly say it diddnt really hurt it was a mad feeling it just felt sort of warm obv this was due to me being in shock & the adrenaline pumping.

The worsed pain ive ever felt and it may sound stupid was when i had to get my lip stiched up inside & out after a fight, the lad who punched me was wearing a ring that went rite through my lip it was absolute agony and always sticks in my mind as being the most painfull thing ive ever felt even if it did only last a few minutes

Had similar issues that I picked up when travelling. I don't think it was a bug and believe it was more stress/anxiety related IBS. Took me about a year or so to get over it. Couldn't finish a meal without feeling sick instantly for about 12 months. The worst part was never wanting to be more than 1 mins brisk walk from a bog. Got better over time though, just learned to relax and just not worry so much.

Maybe not the same for everyone else but most of it was due to how I felt emotionally rather than anything else

Being defibrillated after my 1st heart attack was even more painfull than the heart attack itself and they did it seven times. I'll never forget hearing the Hollies singing "I'm Alive" on the radio in the recovery room as the morphine kicked in.

I've also popped my ear drum Ginge, and I agree. However, I haven't burst it like he has. There is a world of difference, as I know a friend who can't dive anymore burst his, mega mega painful. Bursting your ear drum is caused by pressure I assume? I doubt it's possible in any pool. I can 'Pop' my ear drum by blowing and holding my nose. My friend can't dive because of his ears, and if wants to continue, needs an operation.

I was one of the posters on that previous thread and they eventually found out what was wrong with me after being rushed into hospital on xmas day 07 !

Had my worst bout of pain ever so my wife called NHS 24 and doc came to see me and pumped me full with 10mg of morphine, never made any difference so he was called back again afte a couple of hours, 15mg of morphine this time and all this did was space me the fuck out and never did anything for the pain ! Ambulance into hospital then and after an ultrasound scan they said i had gall stones and gall bladder would have to come out.

Had the full cut open op after they seen how bad it was while trying to do it keyhole, took out my gall bladder which had two stones in it bigger than maltesers !! Unreal how big these things were and cant believe they never picked up on them before when i had various scans and cameras inside me etc !!!

The pain of them taking out the drain tube a couple of days after the op was fucking mental, felt like the nurse was ripping out my complete insides when that tube came out !!!!

no i deffo burst my ear drum, i thought it was a ear infection so went doctors and was told i burst it, felt like my ears poped then sharp pain of a ear infecton

sorry to the guy who i offended, wasnt ment to be insulting was more tounge in cheek comment

i didnt feel i could burst a ear drum swimming under water but its presure based, i never went swimming for a year after and if i swwim under water now i get ear pains like its about to burst again so i avoid it, bursting a eardrum in your conditions is alot worse due to not being able to come straight to the top to see whats happening ect, so wasnt ment to offend you was ment as a off the cuff comment

PMSL.. @ Tony
Just had mild ones compared to what I've read so far thanksfully, broken fingers (one of which i could actually see a big piece of bone) and pulled off fingernails.
I had an operation to remove part of my jaw about 3 years ago, that was pretty sore and I looked like David Coulthard for about 10 days because of the swelling.
I still remember the most shocking one (not for pain but for horror) when i was in Primary 7, playing with a stapler and putting a staple right through my thumb and you you see it behind the nail, i remember that well for some reason.

Depending on the composition of the stone and the type of scan, they may not show up. Around 10% of kidney stones are radiolucent and will only show up on a CT scan. Been there done that

Pilonidal Sinus?! mines in my arse crack haha, had 3 ops in 2 years because it still has not healed it was probably an inch and a half deep and 3 inches long!

1st op i had they stitched it.. within two weeks it was infected to high hell and half the stitches had pulled through my skin. having the rest removed was interesting. then it had pretty much healed up.
2nd time the surgeon said he would open it ever so slightly to take it back to fresh tissue.. took it deeper than the fucking first time because he didnt like what he saw haha.
few days after the 2nd Op i was in agony sitting in the car going to ford fair but was an awesome day!
3rd made it longer still! that was last august and i still have a fucking gaping hole in my arse that just will not do ANYTHING! ive probably had a good 8-9 months off work in the last two years .

oh and a snapped my right arm when i about 10 haha! on the monkey bars in the park! i remember lots of pain! then the level crossing being down so sat by the gate holding my very floppy arm and the people in the car in front of my were giving me some odd looks!
anyway, got home knocked on the door.. mum answered and i said i think ive broken my arm ! brother comes downstairs and says thats not broken and hits it really fucking hard!
then wobbled everywhere and he was like shit sorry and when back upstairs! cunt! lol.

Sorry its abit long!

Dislocated my knee @ school when i was about 15, The worst pain ever.
My knee cap was half way up my thigh, and the over stretched tendons were trying to pull it back into place every couple of mins.
I can only imagine it be like contrapions if i was a chick. I could feel it coming everytime.
Best bit, was the rent-a-teach student taking the class who was 19ish & super fine, we had been joking about and asking her out on dates n stuff, as you do.
Well she thought i was taking the piss and didnt come over till, what seemed like an hour. As i lay there screaming in pain.

I am going through similar at the moment... I had my coccyx bone removed 2 weeks ago and a cavity opened up on the wound so they have been packing it every day for the last week and it has been getting more painful every day, yesterday was by far the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I was jumping up in agony and i'm sure I nearly passed out, it hurt so much I said I couldn't do it again today so have got a day off

Bear in mind when imagining this pain that I once ripped a finger nail out working on the car and hardly flinched!

tried to pull a wheelie on a mini moto and ended up doing a 360 backflip and landing on it with my ribs, cracking one of them. that wasn't all that painful - pulling 5g on the olympic bobsleigh in lillehammer a couple of weeks later was though

highsided a motorbike at snetterton and came down on my left shoulder and broke my collarbone. watched it again on the cctv system in the control tower after coming back from the hospital. that smarted a bit

how about a snapped banjo string

Mine was when i was 16 i had appendicitis which turned into peritonitis! this basically means my appendix exploded and as i was left for 9 days like this due to the docs saying there was nothing wrong i developed an abscess after 4 days the size of a cricket ball which also burst leading to blood poisoning! eventually the docs believed there was something wrong when i started to have green sick with grass in it!!. 2 operations over the next month, 4 weeks in hospital and a year of doing nothing and i managed to get some sort of normal life back, in all fairness the hospital said i was within hours of dying so pretty lucky. As for the pain it was excrutiating and apparently appendicitis is the closest a man can come to the pain a woman feels when having a baby so i like to think i surpassed that!!! lol

Mines mild compared to some i suppose.

I had a persistant cough a couple of years ago, had it for nearly 9 weeks, got progressivly worse, couldnt sleep, short of breath, the GP's both said it was just a simple cough and would clear up on its own. I was running my own valeting business at the time (it was winter as well). It got so bad i could hardly work due to being short of breath. High point was when a customer came to collect his X5 and i could hardly stand up, the pain in my back/sides was horrific.

I eventually got to A & E and a chest x-ray confirmed one of my lungs had a severe infection and i had 3 broken ribs, caused by the months of coughing. Had two days off then had to drag myself back to work - the joys of being self employed eh?

Took nearly 3 months to get back to normal... then in the summer i cracked the same 3 ribs when i had an off on a go karting evening!

I slipped a disc which was bad

Used to get migranes which made me sick with pain

Worst was a smashed collarbone, broke in 5 places, was mis xrayed at hospital and they told me it was one clean break so I had a sling and some iboprufen I went back after two weeks because the bones scraping together were so painful and they told me i was too far healed to have it pinned and set so i now have a clump of bone for a collarbone and my shoulder socket is misaligned giving me constant pain in anything other than warm weather. 5 months of sleeping in a semi inflated blow up armchair didnt help my mood, nor the fact I had my final Uni exams 5 weeks after i did it

Tooth ache is horrible and having under my upper arm tattoo'd hurt like hell too, but I'd rather have the tattoo again than the tooth ache.

i didnt feel i could burst a ear drum swimming under water but its presure based, i never went swimming for a year after and if i swwim under water now i get ear pains like its about to burst again so i avoid it, bursting a eardrum in your conditions is alot worse due to not being able to come straight to the top to see whats happening ect, so wasnt ment to offend you was ment as a off the cuff comment
That is shit luck mate, gutted.

Very interesting thread mate, cheers. Seems alot of people have got severe problems and the fucking NHS is useless to help! Just sit back and enjoy their high wages

Agreed, i have private healthcare now for me and the wife, it's a big chunk of our monthly spending money but for peace of mind I wouldnt be without it. We've made very good use of it over the last two years.

It does make me angry though that I pay towards the NHS yet dont feel comfortable enough to use it myself :-( It's a sad state of affairs

I completly agree mate. Shame I can't put my TAX money towards something I would actually use The NHS has had me suffering for 5 years and just got worse Ive visited numerous hospitals and Doctors and they all just wanna get you out asap. Ive been referred to specialists who go back to stage one 5 years ago and non seem to grasp I cannot wait in waiting rooms or outside as I suffer panic attacks, so they leave me waiting hours

Who do you have your health care with and how much if you don't mind me asking? If I have to pay £0000's to get better I will. To take my son to the park without fear of being ill would be amazing!!

Cant remember off the top of my head but we looked very hard to find a good policy, we used two or three of the brokers who promise to find you the best one and picked the best result that matched our criteria

Our policy may not be the best for you as we had a few things specific to us like full cover for cancer etc but i'll dig out who it's with and the broker we used, probably wont be till tomorrow but pm me if I havent done it by tomorrow

Went to kick a ball and snapped my knee back THE WRONG WAY!!! Had to have it manipulated back into place....in cast for 3 months, then metal brace for a month, physio for 6 months!!! Not advised!!!! Still working on getting it back to normal now!

Apart from that....cant think of anything!!
