OK further to my other post, I have a G drive from the daemon tools and I have the footy manager .bin file which is 707MB and a smaller file (cue?). What do I do to run it?

use daemon tools to mount the .cue file

it will then appear as if the game's CD is in your fake CD drive that daemon tools created.

the .bin file is the physical data, the .cue file is just a little text file that's needed for the probgram to understand whats inside the .bin

if daemon tools is in your tool bar..
Right click it..
go up to virtual cd/dvd drive
then across to device
It will say no media.. if you go across agin it will say mount image.. click this,.
then clue one the Cue image..
it will then mount the file on the virtual drive

Wow I did it, thanks guys! In all my downloading days, I always figured these files were just bollocks and never used a virtual drive. Doh

Doh, I've now got a message asking for me to insert correct CD-rom when i try to open the game.

the game is copy right protected and or looking in the wrong place for the cd.. im no master with games.. but im sure jim will be able to direct you to a web site that has a 'no cd' fix on it!

If you go to My Computer then click on explore the virtual cd drive there should be a directory in there called crack containing an executable. Simply copy this into the directory you installed the game (overwriting the original file) and it should work.

If there is no crack on the cd, go to www.gamecopyworld.com and download it or also try http://astalavista.box.sk (beware of milicious programs trying to get you to install them before you download the crack!)

BlueSmoke - check the 'crack' isn't already included somewhere in your download. Maybe it came with the .bin and .cue files?

I just downloaded/installed Footy Manager 2005 for a mate the other day and it came with cracked FM2005.exe file which replaced original one.

Its getting more and more complex to crack games now, i remember a time when u just went to gamecopyworld.com and downloaded a no-cd patch, job done

It's not always bad business practice to let people use copies of programs, e.g. Microsoft has such a huge market share through so many home users using illegal copies, but if it helps them to become the market standard then businesses throw all the money they need at it, and home users follow suite eventually.

There will always be people who refuse to pay for anything, so they might as well be using your software instead of a competitors!

Games for example, get them hooked then they want to play online, suddenly their copy is no use so they go out and buy it

There was a crack out for HL2 the same day it was released in the UK!!

really, i heard that theres a nocd crack but if u dont have a legal copy it doesnt work anyway. I also got told that 15,000 people signed up for the online service with illegal copies, they let them signup and play and now theyve blocked all there ip's and sent there details onto F.A.C.T, this will mean that any future releases from that company wont be playable even if bought legally, obviously theres a way round this but it makes thigns more difficult
