Take it out and use it to furnish the nearest bin. Standard audio equipment is total tat in most cases. Yuo can get a cheap CD head unit for under a ton. And some nicely equipped decks for not much more.

The only extra's you'll need will be a double din adapter plate and a wiring harness adapter.

I'll second Oranoco on that.

A decent new CD player is next to nothing and the wiring adaptor will cost you about £10-12 and fascia about the same. The sound quality of the original Ford is really naff. You can also put 6x9 speakers in the doors that will improve it to no end, buit keep the old stuff and put it back in when you sell it

Oh and it cost me the price of a beer to get the coder for my last one from Fords, I think it usually costs about £10-15 if you dont know anyone that works there ...

just pay your local car audio shop £10 to re-code it, but dont keep typing codes in, you will lock it.

Just rang my local Ford dealer and they want £15 (robbing Barstewards!). My mate that worked there left about 6 months ago! (how un-thoughtful!!!)

I took the sony xplod out of the 3i 16v we just sold so ive got that i could put in. Just that i would need to buy the fascia to accomadate a 'normal sized' player!

Either way im going have to spend money eh! just i found loads of different codes for the 6000cd but none my serial number

Nath - 6x9s fit in the doors! cool

You might need an adaptor plate for the 6x9's but there only about £10-12 each or so and the difference is amazing and well worth it

Went in to local ford dealer this morning with cash in hand.
They wouldn't gurantee that the code they give me would un lock it incase it had already been decoded. So i asked for a price on the blanking plate fascia. They quoted me £9.80
So i decided (as any sensible man should) to ask the mrs which she wanted.
Went back about 1hr later to buy it and got the apprentice. a short while later he had got it me and only charged me £3.60!!!!! so i handed over the cash and legged it!!!!!!
