Default Am I paying too much for sky?

I currently have sky world, broadband and talk.

For this it costs me £73 a month. I want to add multi room and an HD box since the price is so low just now, but thats another £9.75 x 2.

I dont know if its just me but it seems a ridiculous amount for what they actually give me.

Should i be phoning up threatening to leave and trying to get something off?

Whats everyone else paying?

We pay £40 odd a month for a fairly basic package plus there's the £10 BT line rental on top. Oh, and Setanta.
Seriously thinking of switching to Virgin in the near future.

That price includes my £10 line rental from sky, but i dont pay anything to anyone else.

Its really the £17 broadband that bugs me, as they are always advertising free broadband

You are being mugged off.

I have Sky HD talk, tv and broadband

No sport but everything else (movies)

I pay about £50 p/m

my internet is FREE for std, but I have the mid 8mb package so pay £5 for that

you should get basic b/b for free if you have the tv and talk packages also

I have a basic sky+ 'Two pick package - Entertainment and music', 8mb broadband (40gb cap), sky talk and line rental, and it comes to £31 per month.

Work that out over what I was paying some 12 months ago....

Sky £17
Bt £11.50
Plusnet £21.50

Great savings to be had if you choose your package correctly

i think you can lower the price by removing the sections you dont watch.
such as movies etc.

I just cancelled it and took it out in my wifes name. I now pay 16 quid a month for basic TV, phone and internet.

I was paying 43 for the same package. Plus I got a free sky+ box.

Yeh i think thats where i'm getting robbed. I have the 8mb package as I cant get the lower one in my area aparently
But I'm paying £17 for it

If they knock that down to a fiver I'll be £61 a month, then add on my tenner for multi room and I'm about £70. I can live with that.

If they are charging you £17 for broadband your local exchange isnt activated for sky use. They may get it sorted eventually but there are better BB deals about especially if you have O2 or orange mobile phone on contract. I pay about £23 for family package with mid BB package. Line rental is another £10 but is still cheaper than Bt and I cant get cable in my area. I also use a Sky HD box with a 1000gb hard disc on my plus package which gives 3 free HD channels and a better quality picture on all channels with the hdmi cable to my Hd tv

Cheers. Adam.

i have:
hd
multi room (with sky+)
broadband
telephone
sky+
telephone

including calls and the bt line rental i pay around the £150 a month for both houses for a full works package at both, movies, sports, etc

so, if you knock of £20 a month for line rental to bt
a tenner a month for multi room
another tenner for hd
another tenner for broadband that's £100 a month, £50 a house for a month including calls and big up package currently running at £46 a month

can't go wrong from where i'm sitting

so you are being royally buttfucked mate

I'm in the same situation, Sky couldn't include me in their internet deals because of my exchange. They could do it for £17 but I just stayed with Tiscali who to be fair I'm still paying £17 but its for their top speed, no download limmit and, touch wood, they've never complained about my obscene amount of downloading.

I only have the basic package with addes music & variety & HD packs, fook knows how much it costs, I forget these things once initially setup!
