Going to be doing a few track days soon in my mk2 golf 16v, it seems fairly loud to me is there any way of testing or how do others go about checking how loud there cars are b4 track days ?? I dont want to pay for a track day an then get kicked off after the 5 mins lol ... My exhaust isnt all that loud its more the induction roar that concerns me but i dont really want to change its layout as its been specially designed for the car to go with engine mods...

I go to the most local trackday & get them to test it
I knew my Polo was a bit too loud & was surprised with the sound test results.... 105.1db

Im not 100% sure on the inlet ? Its got a st/st Roar pipe which goes into a moddified air box with the bottom cut out , its been sealed off with a sheet of steel to stop un wanted heat entering an then has a cut out for a cold air feed, inside the box sits a big foam filter...
Do you thing by removing the roar pipe it would hush things down a little with out killing any power?
Pick of the engine bay

roar pipe ? ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
i think you know the answer, make it as quiet as possible
how much power do you think the roar pips gives? 30? 40 bhp?
IF it gives you any, i dont think you will notice any decrease
