Default Should I or shouldn't I?

A bit of a morale dilema here. The other day at an RTA at work (not a biggy, just a young lad rolled his car, he was a bit shaken but allright) I was talking to this young lad in the back of an Ambulance just to keep him chatting and make sure he wasn't in Shock.
Anyway, he mentioned he worked for the local Peugout garage so I thought, "A Ha" and I asked him on the spur of the moment if he could re set the airbag warning light on my 306's dash and he said "yea, should be able to" but did look bit forced into saying that as He's got a 6'3" Fireman stood infront of him.
Now, is it wrong of me to turn up and expect him to sort it out for me, Is it me takeing the piss and using my job to my advantage, I also thought maybe I could get into trouble at work for abusing my position?
What do ya think?
Andy

not if you approach it right. Just pop in and see how he is, then see if it would be ok to reset the light. Just don't tell anyone at work.

You never get anything unless you ask IMO. It was maybe a bit forward but you took his mind off what had just happened.

No worries

Saying somet like- look son, u aint going to hospital unless you sort my air bag light out would prob be a bit out of order tho

Fuck it, abuse your position, go round demanding protection money "say if your house catches on fire TOMORROW i could get there soon or i could take an hour, or maybe i dont know, if i was to come into a LOT of money, your house might not catch fire at all...."

I have a better idea...

Bring the car here I'll beat fuck out of it and the air bag light will be the last of your worries then.

that way you dont have to worry about abusing your powers and not paying for goods and services.

I am a fackin genious

I expect the guy thought u were a nice friendly chappie and really did mean that he offered to do it.

Just pop round to the garage with the car, casually bump in to him, and ask to get it fixed.

Casually remind him that u were the guy in the ambulance with him, be concerned about him and ask the cost........hopefully he will say 'its ok, i o u one' or somethin like that
