Default Optimum ACTs?

Out of intrests in an ideal world what is the optimum ACT's to have even when on boost etc.

And can it be to cold?

i didnt see over 32 degrees on track on saturday

if uve got a 500 style cooler dont think u need to worry

if you havent got one, then why not

I have got one but just a question im wondering as we all know to hot is crap but can it be too Cold? (think it cn be) if so whats the perfect temp to hold right through

Over 40degC is not good.

Tho "technicly" you can be too cold, in practice i dont think thats possible, everyone whos seen mega cold temps on the ACT gauge all say the car was faster than ever.

Was seeing charge temps of around 6 degrees at the weekend, car was fooking flying

You are not supposed to be charging the engine with temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. If so, the condense in the pressure pipes of the engine will turn to ice, and ice at the air velocities experienced in a cylinder head... Well do some quick calculations...

with a low ACT comes dense air. denser air requires more fuel, but if it gets that fuel it produces more power. that's why a turbo car feels mch faster when it's cold.

the down side can be though, particularly if it has been mapped on a chassis dyno, that such dense air is not accounted for in the mapping, and it runs lean. that's why so many engines die when held flat out in fifth for a long time. the act drops as there is massive airflow over the intercooler at high speed.
