Default Anyone work for BT??

i got an interview with them on thursday

only thing thats worrying me is that when i was 17 i had been out on the piss with some mates and they done over a car (prick who owned it nutted my bro the week before) and as i was under 18 the cops gave me a caution and let the rest of the coonts off cos they were all over 18

now, on the form i gotta fill out it asks you put any convictions/cautions etc on it, and they will do a police check, will this show up on the check they do??

cos i bet i dont get the job if i put it on the form

anyone know?

put on that its clear, if that comes up, say "Whoops my mistake".

i did that once with a driving conviction, they wanted a clean licence, i told em i did, and once they found out i didnt id already done such a kick ass job they jus let me carry on.

its an easy mistake to make, esp on a silly caution, and better than putting it on and risking that be the thing that stops u gettin the job

Don't write anything, and if they pick it up on the police check just say you didn't realise you had to put that down as it was such a 'minor' offence (in your opinion) and that you'd pretty much forgetten about it as you were yound and stupid!

They probably won't even pick it up, how long ago was it? I thought cautions only stay on ya record for 5 years, or if you were under 21 when you received the caution, then when you turn 21 it will be taken off iirc

I may be wrong but thats what I remember

cool, cheers mate, one more thing now you mention it lol

she asked if i got a clean license, to which i replyed yes, but, in 2000 i got a 21 day ban for speeding, but its spent now i just havnt sent my license off to get them removed cos you gotta pay Ł20, i was waiting till i moved and changed my address as it would get done for nowt, but we had problems and cant get our own place yet so the sp50 is still on the license.

but its spent now as its only on for 4 years

doh lol

the sp50 shouldn't be a problem, they normally disregard things like that after three years, i work for a hire car company and we will allow renters with allsorts of offences so long as they weren't within the last three years (within reason, for example drink driving or dangerous driving we would never rent to) as for the caution, just ring ya local nick mate, and just explain that you goin for a job etc etc, and could they let you know how long the caution is effective for? it may even be gone already! I'd be surprised if a caution when you were 17 is still on your record. My cus got done for possesion when he was 17, he's 26 now and it's all clear
