You seem very touchy about this New RS.

When quoting what someone has replied and writing your reply below I usually imagine it's aimed at them. Especially with comments like "mong" etc.

I'm not a hater I just don't think it will be what it's made out to be.

I don't like the scoob, but the frs is a pile of shit in the looks dept.
Love the mk1 frs though, just right.

Just read the Car magazine review and they said" greatest hot hatch EVER!"

Clarkson rates it highly(from top gear mag" "the RS glorious days, after a momentary blip are back"..although he said the original FRS looked better and Tom Ford in the FRS races the Stig in a GT40 around a twisty mountain road and does rather well!.....maybe this FWD malarky isn't that bad after all!!

rs will be good no doubt about it, Im not a fan of the ST and i dont consider them quick.

But youre talking about 300 hp standard with less trans losses than the scooby.

A few mods and it will be a seriously quick car.

i think until anyones driven one then we cant comment but im excited about the new rs.

looks good too...

25k is not a lot of money for a possible Icon. the focus rs is 6 years old and holding 10-12k.

Im a little sceptical about the numbers of cars sold though. my ford garage have 10 allocated and none sold.

We are in a credit crunch afterall.

WTF calm down! I just used that as an example!!!!

Ł25k is a LOT of money to spend on a car just by being blinkered or having a very narrow minded view about how the RS brand is THE brand to have. Ford pre-sold a lot of their new RS's. Can't be doing much wrong then can they?

why would it be more interesting? is it because you want to do 4wd donuts or something?
most folk want a car to get from A-B as quickly as possible and if 2wd does that better than 4wd then do be it
i know i had just as much fun in my s2 as i did my 2wd sapph.2 different kinds of fun i agree but both very put a huge smile on my face.
this new RS will put a smile on the drivers face im sure off.
folk saying the rs's prices will crash just like the first model yes of course there going tolose some money but compared to there competitors they hold there money brilliant

Well professional drivers at the Nurburgring say they are the same over a lap there, probably the ultimate test of a road car. So you are wrong. It may feel quick because of the lag compared to the way the ST makes its power but it certainly isnt a 'lot' quicker, there are only gaps of under a second on any of the tests ive seen which is fuck all, and in the real world the way the power is made is a lot more telling

As for one being better than the other, which one is so heavily discounted because they cant sell the griffin badged pile of turd?

As for the RS, early indications suggest its very very good. EVO will probably give the most in depth opinion on the 4th March.

I've seen it in the Jan/Feb rallye news and I do like the look of it it looks a bit tasty and I wouldn't say no to one, the price however starts thats starts from 25k, so for a fully loaded one you probably looking at 30k plus

I remember all the sados paying an extra 5k on the price tag to get their anoraky little hands on the 1st model focus rs and now look, one was going for 7.5k on a 53 plate, that aint that old is it?

I'll hang on for the depreciation, before I look to put my hands in my pocket for one

part 2 of the Sky review is online now, where they put it against the EvoX and the BMW 135i...ALL were blown away by the RS and 2 out of the 3 presenters chose it over the EVO and BMW..heres the link http://motoring.sky.com/features/vid...iple-test.aspx I must say the test is a tad shite though...

i have not said its slow!but i am saying that 5.9 0-60 for a 2wd 300bhp in this day in age is not earth moving!and i will still say that 25k-30k is far too much for a focus!i would wait a year and buy one for 10-13k

Over 50% depreciation in a year.....you're out of your fucking mind mate. No car depreciates that fast, go look at the market........maybe 50% after the first three years if you're unlucky.....but I doubt it. It will depreciate no faster than the evo fq300 or subaru or renault megane r26r etc...

I saw a 26 day old, 370 mile focus coupe/cab with a list price of 17,800 make 9,100 in auction recently Be nice if the RS's did this. I'd have my grubby little mits all over them lol

can't believe the people on here saying its slow because of the 0-60 time. It's a heavy FWD car with a major torque limiter in the gear box, what do you expect. imo, a 30-130 would show its mega potential against both an FQ300 and a STI

I think we'll be finding that the 'in gear' times will be pretty sizzling and on a par or better than an fq300

But we'll wait and see.

As for 50% depreciation, if it happens within 12 months i'll buy one and eat it
