11 points. Towards the end I didn't have a clue!! I understand the engineering and principle behind a turbo charger more than the fascinating new stuff about them and also the really detailed stuff about bearings, seals etc.

Just because I'm picky as hell and don't like to be proved wrong.



The purpose of the wastegate IS to bypass exhaust gas past the turbine wheel, the control of boost is by the actuator device (spring)



The typical temperature of the coolant won't be cold enough to provide an acceptable ACT on a petrol engined vehicle

SIZT - while this is true for automotive use, rail vehicles (namely class 158 and 159 DMU's) have charge coolers that use engine coolant to cool the compressed intake air - typically this coolant is a temperature of 72 decrees C on this form of traction unit
