I'm thinking of getting a pair of 888's for a trip to the ring im going on in may, do you think they will do 500 miles each way plus however many laps i do, im talking about the hard compound ones available. Any experiences will be welcome, thanks.

My 888's have done a few track days, still all good.

I just hate them on the road, but thats my personal preference.

That's good to know We are competing in 4 rounds of time attack this year and they aren't cheap so I was hoping they would last the 4 rounds. After a track day last summer they looked mint on my mates Skyline and we (i) had been giving them loads of abuse

Why do you hate them on the road Helen,is it the noise that they make?

Mine done several Ring laps and about 3000 road miles, still 5mm tread left on them.

Makes a good summer tyre for me

Yes road noise and sounds like both diffs are fucked, bought a set of 18" last year with road tyres and what a diffrence, so helen has 2 set now

As for YUM that has 888 but that so loud that really does not make any diffrence what tyres are on it

they do make a racket on road, like dave and helen said, its almost identical noise to a diff hanging out of the car!

Apart from that they're fine, unless the nurburgring is awash with water..
