Default Cheapy ebay fault code readers

Are they worth buying?

Just want something to read off and clear any fault codes stored in my ECU.

I'm looking at something like this. Do they do exactly what it says on the tin, or will I need something a bit better? It will only be used once in a blue moon, so I don't expect to save the world with it or anything

Cheers
Rich

Mate has that one, used it a few times on my Vectra to read and clear codes when I was having bother with it. He has used it on a few cars and its been spot on, its only for engine codes iirc not faults elswhere in the car. Worth Ł20 tho

I've got one, not sure if it's the 581 or that one, but it's a decent bit of kit considering the price, does exactly what it says it will with no hassle.
