The engine is proper impressive.
But, surely its not running anywhere near its true potentional?
I mean, look at the Ford boys, Rody Tarry etc, like 750bhp out of a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine.
So given the size etc of the Veryons engine, surely 1000bhp is fuckall?
That Monaro is proper cool btw.

500 N/A doesnt seem to come as easily on UK shores as abroad it seems, a bit like 1000bhp YB's lol
What mods were you planning to do to get that? Cam change I assume?
Superchargers work bloody well too on standard engines
Great engines, remap / filter / exhaust puts you into about the 430bhp range which is plenty for most folk

These cars sound good but too many idiots drive them over here. There are heaps of them about (most not with this bhp but still impressive) but just driven by guys who think they are Mark Webber. Exhaust note though on full tap, even out of the box does sound awesome.

Thanks Chip, if correctly geared, i think this car will prove to be very fast with that amount of Power. Its not a rival so I would love it to smash past 206 .

That's the biggest thing that impresses me. The fact that this Vauxhall makes all this power and is under very little stress compared to Rod's. The way I see it is, may it be 100bhp, or 1000bhp, if we are both making the same power and I am doing so with a lot less strain, stress, wear and what not on my components, then I have the better engine. You will go no faster than I will, only the chances of me braking down are an awful lot less. How long can a 1000BHP YB stay flat out? Not long is my guess. Where as this Vauxhall could I think? Well the Veyron can. Not to mention the tune they make!

So a 7 litre v8 is under less stress than a 2 Litre at 1000bhp, i simply dont believe that matey Sorry .
Mine only has to last about 4 miles at Brunters & I will be happy .

They had a previous attempt with a couple of hundred horses less and got to about 180mph, then when they put it into 6th the gearing was so tall that it just killed the acceleration.
I believe what they intend to do now is to gear 5th so it will do just over 200mph, so they dont need 6th, so whatever the rev limiter in 5th is now, is the max speed they can realistically hope to achieve at brunters as 6th will be even less usable now.
They didnt want to lower the gearing to use 6th instead as it would compromise the car more as a daily driver to do that.

Chip,
Was this mapped @ surrey rr. I was there a few weeks ago and the dyno guy showed me the plots for i think the above car. Apparently it was an animal, but completely driveable.

It has 1070lbft, but a huge gearing means that by the time that gets to the wheels its compromised a lot, it WOULD pull it, but not at brunters etc, dont forget you only have a few seconds to get from 180mph to 200mph, so it hasnt just got to pull it, it has to CHARGE through it like Rod's saph does!
