As per title, what is the best way to change brake fluid. Not just topping up and bleeding, but draining whats in there, and putting in new stuff.
And once I've done that, what is the best way to bleed them. I have an eezi bleed kit but its usually pretty poor. I can get a mate to give a hand and do it the way I've done for years, or I've been offered a hydraulic bleeder, but have no idea what this is or how it works

the only way i have changed fluid in the past is to just bleed the new fluid through but takes awhile the other way is to unfasten all the flexy pipes push all the cylinders in to get the fluid out and push the brake pedal to get it out the lines but this gets messy lol, i think the hydrolic bleeders are suposed to be gud but never used one myself hope this helps.

As AL says, the gunsons eezibleed works wonders, I use it all the time on me cossie, and astra as well as many others.
I don't put fluid in the bottle just use the bottle as a join between tyre and reservoir.

I always found the seal went on the gunson which resulted in me and the engine bay getting sprayed in fluid - nightmare when it's the expense SRF stuff

Thats how I've always done it before, but I was thinking that the old and the new fluids will mix, even if its just a little, and this cant be good.
But, I dont think you're supposed to let it run low as it can damage the master cylinder piston.
I suppose i could just open the nipples and let it run out on its own.

even if there is still 5% old fluid in there, it's going to be better than having 100% old fluid in any case

if only there was a way to make the fluid a different colour so as to make it easy to see when there was new fluid coming through..............
