t5 gearbox question - bearing retainer??
hi can anyone tell me if the input bearing retainer from the T5 Cossie is any different to one on the US Mustang T5 World Class Gearbox?
Apart from the clutch spline and diffrent ratios, are there any more differences between the two T5 boxes?

Input bearing retainer is the same.
The main differences are as you say gears, but some mix of NWC and WC does occur, some of the main differences are in the WC, countershaft gear is supported by taper roller bearings as opposed to straight roller bearings on the NWC.
Other differences are WC uses needle bearings for bearing under gear as opposed to journals on NWC, WC blocking rings use fibre synch, as opposed to brass synchro, .
Hope this helps, I am going to check on a buddy today who rebuilds trans over here but is us in origin.
