Sorry for the downtime. Welcome To America.
Hi Guys,
Sorry for the spurious service the last 48hrs, and the downtime this evening since 7pm, but I am please to announce we are now in America.
It will be normal to experience a slightly slower "Response time" from clicking the mouse as your request is now traveling a lot further than it did, but the info is going to come back a whole lot faster than it did before and hopefully we will be more efficient with improved uptime and no discernible effect when we are busy and under great load. On the whole im sure it will be a good move and we should enjoy improvements once the server cache has built up.
The next 24hrs will be a test period with us tweaking and looking at one thing or another, but all in all an excellent pain free move performed by Adrian and his web team. Great work as always guys, thank you.
We can add some new toys now we are on some more powerful hardware, so watch this space...

These guys are wizards and they have put us on some very serious hardware too, with a decent support team so we can expect improved human response times in the unlikely event we have downtime for some reason.

Yes, its not a secret:
2x
Dell Poweredge 1950’s
(one for the DataBase, the other the webserver)
Both have:
16GB of RAM
2x 3Ghz Quad Core’s Xeons with 1333Hz FSB
4x 15 Krpm Hard Drives
And all the usual gubbins that go with it of course.
