Great move, sell a good player, and dont replace him, in a position were short at to start with. lets hope nando doesnt get injured, or we'll have david ngog as our only striker, dirky is an out and out right winger these days, and rafa likes him there, so he aint moving him upfront. going for the title with one good striker, awesome.

Who's chocie was Keane in the first place? Parrys or Rafa? There was no way he is worth 20million and this has to be one the single most stupid bits of fucking buisness ever carried out by Liverpool, buy for 20.5 and sell for 12 less than 6 months later, thick morons,

Liverpool have done something seriously stupid today....

There is no way they will win the league but then there was no way that they would with keane anyway as long as rafas in charge.

Come on Torres go and get injured...

Torres Injured= Liverpool F**ked...

Great player at a small club. Bottled it at a big club (inter and liverpool) where he isnt the star man.

Ha ha ha - that's the biggest load of shite I've heard about Keane yet.

He was very young when he went to Inter - and just like at Liverpool, he wasn't really given a fair crack at it. Inter weren't a 'big' club in Italy back then either - Juve, AC, Lazio were the top dogs.

I think what he's done at Spurs shows how good a player he is/can be. In the right system, he's one of the better No.10's in the league.

Nail and head spring to mind. as i said above, stupid move to get rid of keane, its obvious rafa didnt like him, but id be far more comfortable with keano up there than ngog. even when kuyt did play up front, his goal per game ratio was a goal in every 4 or 5 games, and if he moves dirky up front, that leaves the right wing a problem, and as he has let pennant go, we dont have a right winger to cover dirk out there. everybody has strenghtend in january, liverpool have a smaller squad on the 2nd of february than we did january 1st.

personally i feel for keane as liverpool was his dream move and now thats ended, i think its wrong to blame rafa as if time was on rafas side, he'd have given him more chances, hes given keane as much chances as he could and keane really hasnt impressed, with the pressures fans, owners are putting on rafa only instant success is good enough, also its not clear whether keane was rafas signing.

as for letting keane go without signing a striker on loan or a perm replacement for keane then thats stupid as torres could get injured, ngog isnt good enough same with kyut and babels never been put in that position much to know how to play there.

on the flip side we mite have got back all or most of the money we spent on keane because spurs are on there knees atm with defoe out and fighting relegation, if we waited till the summer and spurs survive relegation they wouldnt be so desperate for him and wouldnt offer anywhere near the money they must be now

so what of the rumors about David Villa etc, Keane was a big mistake in the first place, surely there are other strikers out there that we could have gone for?

Doest matter who we sign mike, he'll be on the bench or in the stands anyway, rafa plays 4-5-1 in most games, and nando is the 1 in that equation. cant see us signing another top striker, who wants to be sat on the bench, make sub appearances, and the occasional start ?. didnt work with crouchy, hasnt worked with keano, both very good strikers, far from what you would call a top strikers, but still, even they were away at the first opportunity. so it looks like a second class striker who doesnt mind sitting on the bench, but unfortunaly ngog doesnt come anywhere near second class, maybe fifth or sixth class on a good day.

But if he had say Villa could he adjust to play 4-4-2 ? regardless of what system he places we simply can not continue with only 1 world class striker it is insanity, because if/when Nando gets injured we are fucked.

... Thats this season fucked then .... This has painful memories of when we were in the hunt for the title, and Houlier sold Robbie fowler, who at the time was an awsome striker. That cost Liverpool the league that season, and I can see it happening again, this was the year we had the besst chance of a challenge....Down to one striker again, stupid Fergie must be pissing himself.

If Villa came in it would force Rafa to change his tactics completely. You look at the Spain side in the Euro's and he basically had a midfield full of centre mids and relied on the full backs to give them width.

Liverpool have pish full-backs so it wouldn't work.

Oh my God will you lot stop whining!!!!!

Keane hasn't made the grade simple as that, fair play to Rafa for getting rid now!

Torres has been injured lots this season, and we've done fine without him can you honestly say Keane has done anything this season that Kuyt or Babel couldn't have done? because i haven't seen it!

If Torres gets injured then we'll be no worse off than if Keane were still here.

We're ok without him

The reason Robbie didn't adjust well is because he had an awesome strike partner in Berbatov and the 2 played really well together and knew what each other wanted. He didn't get time to build that partnership with Torres as Rafa hates 4-4-2 . I admire him to realising that his Liverpool dream was a bit of a nightmare, and glad he's returned to White Hart Lane Sold for 20, bought back for 12 is good business sense IMO. And fair play to Levy for accepting that he'd dropped major clangers in selling some of our best players.

It would be nice to see Liverpool up there, but I feel this is another setback in their title chase, bearing in mind you have to play Manchester Utd at old trafford in a couple of weeks. How sick will you be on the last day of the season when you play Spurs and Keane scores a penalty to level it a 1-1 and ending your title hopes

here here!

i wouldnt believe the 12m figure it depends who you want to believe spurs were fucking desperate for keane with defoe out for ages which would leave you with bent and pav saving you from relegation, relegation is the worst for any club

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...r-robbie-keane

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liver...0252-22837715/

i honestly wouldnt believe the 12m figure you guys were begging us for keane becaus of the reasons above!

No chance mike, he plays 4-5-1, he likes to set the team up so we overload midfeild, play two defensive central midfeilders so we are hard to break down. thats why we dont lose many games to be fair to him, but what he fails to grasp, its also the reason we draw so many aswell.
