Default Rally Ireland-just back

Can't see another thread about it-we just got back from donegal there

Left the house at 6 to see the Arigna stage-Loeb was class much quicker than anyone else goin thru the corners we saw. Was worth stayin in last night anyway

Went up to the Donegal town stage then that was top of the range Mikko Hirvonen won that stage in a focus , he came past us absolutely on the limit sideways

It made an awful difference only having two top teams-I don't know where Eamonn Boland finds the funding to compete on a comparable level to Citreon in a privateer car

I was pissed that there was no mark 2's the RWD's are the best to watch I reckon. Those J-WRC's , I'd say there exciting to drive but tbh i thought they were shit from a spectating point of view , slow as fuck no sideways action , they aren't what I'm after.

But still a great day and hope the sport picks up and they get more factory teams

Anyone else go up? I saw a group of historics leaving Donegal as we got there (just after Loeb overtook us) but I've no idea when they ran did they do the town stage earlier?

Sounds good mate. Loebs just a different class aint he, Ford really needs to pull its finger out to stop him!

How many cars were in the rally as there was only 20 finishers!?

Some nice pics there Gav, You didn't pass Aava on the inside did ya?? LOL. Its a pity McHales turbo let go. He was holding his own before that. The Irish roads were defo a big challenge for the WRC teams. Leob is in a different league. Only way another driver will win championship is if Leob packs up WRC end of this year.

The entry list says 43 entrants but I don't know-we only got up for the couple of stages today. Not the best when you have the top 8 in only 2 different models it needs a bit more diversity-the scoobys are a big loss I was hoping to see the new spec car but fuck it

He held his own pretty well against boland as well-will he ever get a big name drive though? With the way the sports gone

It was unreal how close they were as privateers to the pace of the wrc teams

He prob would have finished ahead of Boland only for the mishap. I'd rate McHale better than Matthew Wilson but we all know how he got a drive!
Austin McHale reared up on RTE about local drivers not supporting the rally and competing in it. Suppose most of them couldn't get the funds for it.
