Default T70 turbo, what BHP is capable...

...its from a skyline and I want to know what power these turbos are capable of. I dont know which exhaust housing is on it so an approx figure on bhp on a 3ltr 6 cylinder and what cost are they new?

Out of interest would it work at all on a small 2ltr 4pot- say a YB for example? and what power is possible?

all the T70's are cheap chinese shit.

The real ones are either T66 or T78 or T88 or T88H or T51KAI or T51SPL. curiously name wise the 51's are larger than the 88's

Hi Mark, no Im not thinking of using it on the YB. I was offered the turbo for an M3 3Ltr engine conversion and am looking for around 500bhp from the setup but really dont know the turbos suitability to be honest and dont want to purchase something totally unsuitable or inadequate.

The Garrett T70 above isn't really for that... a big T4 or a T61 would go very nice with the M3 engine

I would run a GT30 or GT35 on that engine, These are very good turbo's, I am also looking in to the Borg Warner turbo's also.

love all the 'chinese crap' comments, the chinese actually produce some of the best products for industry out there at the moment, togther with india they are market leaders, and you may find that they even make parts for garret turbos
