I think you'll find Lee Catermole has been doing it since the first totb, not sure if he has even missed any of them !

There's plenty of cars on the board that could do well at this, probably none that could win which is sadly why they won't bother showing up.

Harveys car is by far the best overall 4wd entry that Ford could enter, there isn't much on here that could touch that over the 3 events

Think you can only camp if your competing Doug, or with someone that is competing.

People could camp until some dickheads decided to mess about in a JCB which was on site and ruined it for everyone else!

Also - and don't take this the wrong way polly x, but I reckon there should be a separate class for your style of car.

Being honest something like your old mans Escort is what the Ford Team needs, Its capable in all 3 events, not to win any of them but it would raise the Ford flag somewhat as its massively underpowered compared to the others but I still think it would out perform a LOT of the other cars.

what tyres can you use in this ?

i think ill go but cant see my old man travelling 3hours(in the truck) to have a few runs

888's and "some" drag radials

He would do ok at all 3 and would certainly not be shown up.

You should mention it although I'll guess he is more than aware of the event

he wont drive the car on 888's and i dont think he'd put the money into drag radials for one event,

it dont appeal to him at all i dont think ive tried to persuade him before but wernt bothered, i also mentioned time attack to him but thats also on 888's

yeah course, he dont like them, he was scared to drive his car on them at ford fair he said two laps to warm up 1-2 quite good laps then no good,

it was a turn the corner and go straight on jobby was in the gravel trap also lol

then first corner after s/f straight at silverstone with andy g behind him, the car just didnt want to turn in, andrew on slick drove up the inside lol

obviously his opinion as others like them but he really didnt.

Surely though Jim if Andy was on a full slick he would be faster. Also, isn't he comparing a full slick to a semi?

11.3 at Elvington but the car should easily be faster than that. Was probably around 400 BHP when it did this at TOTB last year and it was a very hot day so not ideal in terms of ACT's.

Apologies if this comes over oddly / badly... but WTF?

So everyone in Time Attack uses R888s and gets on ok with them, yet your Dad won't run them or use them, nor enter Time Attack because he has to use them?

It's a control tire, they're all on them and they race week after week. Some have a lot more power than your Dad, some have a lot less. Yet for some reason your Dad can't do the same as they do?

Most bizarre thing I've read in recent weeks.

His car would be awesome at TOTB I'm sure, as would Martin's Escort and Andy G's Focus.

Just needs the owner's to want to go, and we have an instantly promising team.

I wish I had a flagship demonstrator, I'd be at the event without fail showing what the car could do.

The car is on mega close gearing unlike most of the other entrants which is why it demands so much grip.

I can't see a set of 888's being that bad over cut slicks though but it is his decision and it really isn't like there is any gain for him personally by entering, it would simply be good for the Ford badge

Im going to watch for sure! Wont have anything ready to compete though

Out of interest, whats the score with using NOS? I know the car has to be road legal (MOT & Tax) but is NOS road legal to use?

NOS is allowed at TOTB. How else does a 2.0na corsa get into the 11s/12s?

Andy's is spaceframed so would have to go in the Pro-Drag class though..

Would love to see a good Ford compete as it's a fantastic event, but it's just seems that TOTB has passed the Ford world by. Loads of other marques see it at 'the battleground' but seems that the Ford boys (with a few notable exceptions) aren't interested.
