High definition is even more affordable with a Sky+HD box now only £49 when you take the HD Pack and stay with Sky TV for another year. You’ll enjoy the widest range of HD channels in the UK with the HD Pack for just £9.75 extra a month. That's 24/7 great HD entertainment, all for less than the cost of a Blu-ray Disc. Does she wanna ring up for me?! They wouldn't do nothing for me a month ago, except half price install. Fuck that, i ain't paying £30 for someone to unplug one box, plug another in and pair up the card (already got sky +)
Got full package and my broadband with them too! Robbing bastards.

Testing the future
i recently got the freesat rival to sky+ but only receive bbc hd at the moment. it does upscale sd broadcasts though, which is nice and the pvr is very easy to use with the same features like series record etc. one off payment for the box of £300 and no subscriptions. just need to figure out how to get eurosport now to be able to watch world superbikes

im so glad i noticed this topic . the birds Sky+ box is fooked and doesnt record half the time . a mate has looked at it and said its fooked so i need a new one . i rung sky last nite and all i got was either £159 for a box as a existing customer or if she cancelled and i took it out in my name they want £99 plus £60 install so either way its £159 . i went mad and said its a rip off !!! and they wouldnt budge !!!!
i just rung up ,sorted the box reservation out , got to pay just £49 and no £30 install cos she is multi room !
bloody result

Sky HD is awesome.............simple as, the animal programs alone are just stunning in HD......
It makes me laugh, these people who go out and spend thousands on a 42" Plasma/LCD TV and they dont even get the benefit from it as the dont have Sky HD.....or in alot of cases not even ANY HD format..........And they are the peope moaning about the extra £10 a month when they have spend loads on a HD ready TV

Do you get any free HD channels ie bbc,itv c4? Or do you have to pay for these channels if so thats a con that you have to pay for the hd bbc channel. I mean I allready pay my bloody T.V license and watch sod all on the bbc so why should I pay for there hd channel?

15K+ Super Poster!!
that's my point, i don't mind paying for equipment, but seeing as the progs are already recorded in HD... They'll drop the charge soon enough, then i'll switch.

Its def not rip off mate, have you seen some of the programs in HD before?? With a good full HD tv and an HD box you would be amazed at good it is, from football to films anf the documnetrys are out of this world. At the end of the day, whats a tenner a month a few beers, couple of packs of ciggies, its well worth it!!

that's what i'd figured but don't want all that hassle for one channel when i can just watch it on their website being in german is not a problem, i can understand that easily, just wondered if it was fta on astra 2 at 28e at all, but it seems it's only on sky encryption. my receiver has a cam slot, but from what i've read it is not possible to get one for the sky encryption - although people are running software decryptors on linux based receivers
