4x4 cossie engine using 2wd sump
anyone done this, if so did you retain the 4x4 oil pump and pick up pipe, as ive measured it and it seems that the pick up pipe is very close to the bottom of the sump, obviously i dont want to starve the lump of oil, any info much appreciated

so yours is a 200 block 4x4 engine with 4x4 oil pump and pick up etc just with the 2wd sump bolted on ?, did u use a 2wd sump gasket set or did you just stick it on like the way the 4x4's are done

use a 2wd sump gasket,
and just bend the pick up pipe up a few mm
done it this way a few times and never had any bother
as for he kit car blacky was talking about
thats the same kinda set up that andy gallacher has on his focus

the 4wd pick up is bent to clear the intermediate shaft so it's a different shape
you can use what you have and just bolt the 2wd sump onto it, the peole who do the 24V swap on their xr's and stuff do it the other way around where you HAVE to get the 4wd pick up otherwise it won't fit
also, don't forget that by bending it, make sure you don't loosen the seal on teh pipe to the bit that bolts up onto the pump as if the whole thing falls off your engine will be sucking up oily air only, which is going to be much much worse
