Just had Sky+ this week and i'm well pleased with it, the only problem (touch wood) is that it seems really quiet compared to my normal sky box i had.

I've checked all connections and settings and made sure that SKY+ volume is at max.

Im going to get an optical cable so i can make the most of DD does anyone know if this will make a difference.

As it is i have to have it up 10 increments more on the volume on my amp than i used to.

Anyone else had a similiar experience?

using the optical will eliminate any sound stage in the sky box.. the optical output will have no effect on how loud it is or isnt, your amplifiers DAC will sort the digital signal into an ideal analogue signal for the amps pre stage.
so you should see a noticable difference in level, if you dont then your old sky box simply had a high output etc.
