As title,

does anyone know of any zetec turbos running a fair few miles etc... reliably using decomp plate??

rich m and pasty were the first to use a decomp plate on their 1800 zetec turbo, that was back in the day and not running silly power. as long as you keep it sensible, you will be ok.

havnt heard anything about the car for a few years tho, but rich still uses the site i think.

As in spec'd right, built properly, mapped right, no det etc.

So what would be a 'reliable' spec??

iv got a load of FRST spares, and three 1.8 zetecs so im thinking of seeing how reliable the decomp plate route is

And i only intend using FRST management and low boost. If i could get 200bhp reliably then id be very very happy

I've reliably run approx 200bhp using two MLS head gaskets and a stainless steel shim.

Good stuff. What 'mm' did the gaskets and shim make up?? what was your comp ratio??

im also thinking of doin this, im only after 200 bhp maximum, and also have a full fiesta turbo setup from an rs turbo i once had.

surely save the hassel of building a zt could be easlyer spent on a set of low comps to make a relibale cvh??? just a thort

we have done a focus with juat 1 frs gasket and running 13 psi and its been running for 2 years now at 265 bhp
