Default New style ford key.....

Can anyone confirm that this remote key fob can be used for a 55 plate focus??? The key we have at the moment is just the normal oval style, non-flip remote fob. It says 2004- in the listing, but he cannot say for definate so obviously i need to check myself before buying.

Cheers.

that doesn't look right, looks like there is a bit missing? and where is the silver button/hinge that you press to flip the key out. also not every ford dealer can cut those keys.we are in sheffield and have to go to wakefield if we need one of those keys cutting. if it is complete then yes it will work, have seen new shape focus' with both types of key.

Thanks for that mate, cheers. Do you know if the programming is something i could do myself or is it dealer only, as i know many of the audi and vw ones can be done easily enough using a certain sequence.

that doesn't look like the new new keys so it may work

the new new keys are flat bladed so won't fit, but if you have the round key it'll work

a lot of the jag keys will also work

i know with the older shap you could quite easily program the remote in, takes 10 secs i epect the later shapes the same, then to program in the chip of the new key you need two excisting keys already, then all you would need to do it get the blade cut at a locksmiths, failing that get a locksmith to clone the chip from one of your other keys

didn't know that mate

i know that the mondeo keys can be swapped over with the jag flip out stuff with the 4 button remote, but then things get a bit complicated when you need to start programming this and that and don't have a key to program from

do you still need 2 keys to program the older stlye keys?
