As said on the forum above though, bet they say they can't honour it later down the line.

Worth a punt though...

so long as its all true and you have the braided hoses then by law if they have it advertised for that price then they HAVE to sell it to you for the same price otherwise it is false advertising.... when purchased there is nothing they can do about it afterwards tbh... get it checked with a lawyer to be certain!

if it redirects you through there site and it's the same price i reckon there's a chance. But saying that if you read the t&c it'll probably say about cancelling due to computer error or summot

Anyone actually used or with Ecar insurance?

Lots of mixed reviews on Moneysupermarket.com website....

I'm going to get the BMW on Weds, if my saved quote is in place still then, then I'll take a gamble on it.

No they don't have to sell it to you.

http://www.telford.gov.uk/Advice+ben...dards+FAQs.htm

Q. I have seen a CD player on sale in a shop that I want to buy. However, when I tried to buy it the manager told me it was the wrong price. Can I make the shop sell it to me at the displayed price?

A. No. You cannot make a trader sell anything to you if they don't want to. In civil law when goods are displayed in a shop, a catalogue or an advertisement, this is called an 'invitation to treat'. This means that it is an invitation for the consumer to make an offer to the shop to buy the goods, and it is up to the shop whether or not they want to accept that offer.

However the shop might have committed a criminal offence. This is because the Consumer Protection Act 1987 says that traders must not display misleading prices. You could report this to Trading Standards who may investigate the matter, however if this was a 'one-off' genuine mistake they would be unlikely to take any action.

I had no problems getting eBike (same company) to pay out after my crash last year.

Insurance is something I would never mess about with, without first checking it all out and to be honest for the sake of a few hundred quid I don't think I could be arsed with it.

If you can't afford to insure a car you can't afford to fix it!

4k is pocket money, I earn that in a day!

When the time comes to buy one I will be able to afford the insurance and be able to fix it. That's highly irrelevant though. Cheaper the insurance the better.

Worked for me, price was the £183 whatsit, but by the time I had actually bought some hoses I would have ended up paying more than I am with elephant. Wonder if it works for bikes? my 996 insurance is due.

Im with ecar and it says in the policy summary they can cancell your policy anytime as long as they give you 7 days notice. Im betting everyone that has got a policy on this "glitch" will be getting a cancellation letter soon

They do not have to sell at the mega cheap price even if it is advertised as such. It is just an offer of sale and both parties have to consent. Personally I would not gamble on car insurance, your liable for potentially a lot of money in the worst case scenario.

If something is too good to be true it usually is.

surely once you have signed up to the deal, ie completed the transaction, then they are as obliged to the contract as you are??? Insurance companys have to have a valid reason to cancel a policy surely??

Just like if you bought a TV in a shop for £50 they cant come after you 2 weeks down the road saying it should of cost £100

But they will have a "valid reason" they will say there was a system fault and as a result the policy you took out is void

Yeah you've done nothing wrong but they can still cancell your policy if they see fit to due to a "system error"

I would'nt want to take the chance with that mate. Insurance companys are a pain in the arse when everthing is all above board i can imagine the hassle it would be if they brought this sort of thing up when you'ed had a smash
