Chop a bit out the doorframe so the door will still close.

you cant just go chopping a door frame. best to cut a small square out of the door.

i ask for sensible suggestions as i'm sure someone will have had this problem before, all i get is silly replies

and no, it's not about being tight, it's about needing to use it very occasionally as i've got a garage i could have done it in had it not been for the rs2 and the estate currently residing in them and it being out of the windin the the front garden

if i would have driven but all the 100 yards to the other house i could have done it there without the need of any of this as i could have put in next to the garage there but the folks have got visitors round and i didn't want to go round as i would have been collared into giving them a lift back home as they would say "aha, now that we have a willing chauffer we can get pissed and leave the car here"

if i wanted stupid answers i would have posted it in the muppet room

About 2 meter from the plug cut the lead . buy a male and female connection like the one's you get on a strimmer. This would be small enough to fit through the letter box. Homebase or b&q would sell these.

Usually I just run the lead outside and close the door on it, seems to work ok with out front door without any hassle than a little extra pull to get it to latch shut.

Just cut the moulded plug off and put a normalplug top on and you will have to keep wiring it as someone said earlier.
Make sure you fully unwind the extension to use the blow gun as it might get a bit warm else.

Dojj i dont get why you cant put the window ajar on the catch?? most modern (ie last 20 years) windows have an ajar position where the handle can be shut as normal. That would present no more risk to the kids than the window as it stands. You can always lock the window in that position for the hour.
