Its a funny feeling when you sell a Cossy. Its pretty funny when you buy another one after vouching never to buy another one again. I've done that loads of times.

Servicing ?scott its not like they need servicing every 3,000 miles is it,and the SMG thing, yeah theyre 5k to buy...........from BMW,a cossie engine is 5-6k from ford brand new but who buys them from there,I spoke to AJ on the phone on friday and he said there is more than enough people around to deal with problems with SMG(if one ever actually arose),and he was actually offered an entire SMG unit for a grand if his ever let go so its all good,I just want summit i can use all the time y`know, and am I right in saying your highlighting a problem that never actually existed on your own M3 SMG?

SMG's have a history of breaking and yes, they aren't cheap and when I bought my M3, I paid Ł31k for her so everything had to be done through the dealer to keep its value as when I sold it, I got Ł26k for her. Times have changed though and they are great cars for not a lot of money now.......great value for money
If you keep up the dealer history on it then it'll not depreciate too much or as fast as the non dealer cars.
Oil service is circa Ł200
Inspection service is circa Ł1200
Rear tyres are circa Ł290
(these were what I was paying on mine a couple of years ago)
Most important is make sure it's had its 1200 mile first service and it's recall for the Vanos (if applicable year of car?)

servicing is relative to how you drive them though mate. After my service on mine it showed 15k miles to the next one but as I drove the car quite briskly, that went down to 10k miles within about 2k real miles!!
