There are so many reasons why they'll never be classed as a proper rs....
to name a few

cant tell them apart at a glance from a gti,si etc
seriously under powered
very average cars
nothing appealling to the eye,that attracts attention( apart from the peco's,sunstrips etc)
classed as quite a chavy,i think im fast as a subaru boy racer car
nothing sporty about them
and just dont seem like ford made the effort with them

I recon ford made these just to get a few bits off their shelves,and then charged people a load more money to add a rs badge on the back.

If they were a proper rs,then they wouldnt of de valued so much...shit, people only buy them as a cheap track car because if they break it dont owe them much and they can just leave it there!!!!

I had a escort turbo around 195 bhp and it was exciting every time it came on boost. It wasnt scared to take on anything.
At that time there was nothing to match the rs brand i dont think.
I ant had car for 2 years now and have just ordered arctic vxr its great fun to drive with sweet exhaust sound and loads of go for 1.6.
the vxr gives me thrill of my old rs turbo with out having to mess about withfixing it at weekends. Still love any thing Rs though always will.

and i still love everything rs too, including my old rs2000.

i'd rub my penis all over this car anyday if i still had it...i think they look great. but i have moved on from fords now. love rs's, but hate fixing them and wasting my money on them. saying that. the rs2000 is the only ford i never spent a penny on, apart from an M.O.T and new tyre. just the way i like it. if i did have another ford tho, it will be an rs2ooo. comfortable, sporty, strong and puts a smile on my face. i look at it as the muscle car of rs's
but for now its GTR for me







anyway, back to the thread. i really like the corsa and astra range, if i won the lotto i'd buy one for the missus deffo. but i'd have to drive it of course cos she's a crap driver...lol. i'd buy the new R35. hmmmmmmmm loving it

I had a RS2000 4x4, it drove very nice, never went wrong but was to be honest not very quick at all.



The point is hardly any RS owner leaves their car standard, I had great fun playing with mine to get over 200bhp with no turbo.

After joining the vauxhall scene i decided to look and join MIG web thinking that there would be loads of nice birds wanting to lick my balls now i have arctic vxr. But it appears that the site is full of moorons that dont like a good joke. I got my thread closed for quoting anchor man lines. Love the arctic but you cant beat the rs people.

as an intermitten track car .......i never had a problem with it i did loads of track days in

for a standard car they handle well they are reliable .. i had great fun in it

destroyed alot of high powerd cars around the track in wet condtions, cossie ,evo's, skyline/subaru ect lotus ect i could go on

I think the new corsa is ugly at the back, but the VXR8 and the Astra are nice. The 414bhp is a bit slacking from such a large motor though IMO.

I have the Corsa too and love it, my brother got his used from craigslist but I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Corsa Exhaust 14340, or you can try one of the sponsors here on the forum, they are allways having sales/specials. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.
