I'd like to know this too!

Where you thinking of going Paul? I have mates in Perth, they're brickies and were getting something like 35-40p per brick here, and $2 per brick there!! Dont know what cost of living is like in comparison though.

Wages and cost of living are on a par! Cheap fuel yes, but then theres no NHS etc. Better lifestyle though.

I think theyre wanting joiners so you should get in ok especially at your age!

Working holiday is easy mate, been there done that. As long as your under 26 which iirc you are!

You get your visa within about 8 weeks iirc, you need to show you have sufficient funds etc. You can also get cheap flights with such as www.statravel.co.uk etc

yes you need to show sufficent funds to live of through out your stay just in case you can't get a job. I went for six months 4 years a go and i think i needed to show 2.5k in the bank before the visa was granted plus there is some sort of loop hole about just getting some one to put it in there for a month ? Working visa's are very easy to get but you need to apply before you 30th birthday and activate it ie: going to the tax office in oz to have your passport stamped before your 31st birthday other wise you loose it and have to start down a new route as your now old !!!
Also you will be snapped up quick over ther if you are a chippy as they are gagging for tradesman, all houses are timber framed and they can't put them up quick enough ?
