Lamborghini Countach QV5000 Quattrovalvole. Not the fastest or the easiest car to drive but still regarded by some as the definitive supercar, and still looks as cool today as it did on the poster on my bedroom wall when I was 12

Veyron.....for pushing the boundaries with such style and useability

Porsche 911 turbo - for longevity and being IMO one of the only truly useable supercars on a day to day basis

McLaren F1.

end of argument.

Anyone who thinks that the Veyron which is ONLY 125BHP/Litre, (stg 1 cossie is better than that!) has no luggage space (seriously), looks like a Fat beetle (insect), and weighs over 2 tonnes (wet) (485BHP/ton v the F1 550hp/ton) is a masterstroke of design is a spastic!

For me it would have to be the Ford Model T and also the Veyron.....Both set totaly new standards in automotive history, the T being the most significant.

lol.....there are others in that era and i accept that fully However i think its just cos i aint been in one that causes me to have a fetich for it. I remember many years ago a 3dr and a LC racing in Brum and at the time the LC "had it" and because of that the LC has always helda special place for me.

Er no.....designing a car that will perform as mind bendingly as the veyron with such useability and style with an engine as relatively unstressed as that is a masterstroke ......afterall its not like it had to have a vulgar gold plated enginebay on display and has handling thats been declared as flawed by all the great motoring journo's including its designer?

Or maybe the XJ220. 200+mph sportscar, 3.5 V6 Twin Turbo - with brakes from a Metro

To be fair - "The Cosworth" is not a car, it's an engine...

True but it is the ultimate Ford IMO and I want one sooo bad

Still holds the production car 0-60mph record (2.5 seconds) IIRC

So "flawed" it won its debut at Le Mans. And placed 4 others in the top 7. No one said it had to be easy to drive. Just great if you know what you're doing. Clarkson's word isn' gospel.

Seriously though. The Veyron is an Auto. Of course its un-stressed. Its not putting out anything like stressful levels of power. There are reliable Cossies with more power/litre. And thats 20+ year old tech. And wheres the useability? It genuinely hasn't got ANY luggage space. Not even a token gesture in the front. How the hell can you drive it to Monaco and take a weeks worth of clothes?

Style is a relative term. Have you actually seen a Veyron in the flesh? It's fricking massive! F1 is Gallardo size!

But the trump card is how the rest of the world sees it. I know of a dealer with 3 Veyrons in the showroom. Not selling. All delivery miles. Around Ł1.4M. McLaren's seem to hold their value a touch better!
