Default What Would You Rather Have - VW Golf R32 Or Audi S3?

Both similair cars, I assume the Audi is better built and slightly quicker. However, I'd have the R32 purely for the V6 and I love the the look. Your thoughts?

Sometime this year I will be getting my long awaited compensation claim. I'm told it will be over 50k and if it is I am going to own one and put the rest in a savings account. Who knows. Boothy, I own a Volvo C30. I was sat behind an R32 and when he took off, I was like a kid.

R32 for me. A3 seems like the new chav gangster mobile round here (well not an S3 an A3 but suppose same can be said for a Golf ). But deffo R32 as they come in a very very nice blue colour (can't remember the name). There is one down me street and it definitely attracts attention and looks the bollocks. Sounds proper raspy too!

Benni - don't start spunking money on a car mate, put it into a house or leave it and forget about it all until you are ready to buy a place.......honestly

Do it. Not the best place to put your money but fuck it, only live once and all that.

Will be pennies soon aswell, can pick up tidy cars with plenty of options for Ł15k now.

Thats true, sensible head says buy a house now while there cheap. Then reap the rewards when the house prices go back up, cause they will.

Ł50k, thats a depo on a couple of houses that.

I will be putting at least a certain ammount into saving. So anything over this and I want one. Like Dave said, you really do only live once.

as a day to day car the s3
it'll cost less to run and it handles better, plus it's got more scope for upgrades

it also don't look as subtle as the r32 which means moer peole will ignore you

S3, looks on par if not better than the R32 imo, holds it value better, and its 1 chip away from 300bhp to keep you entertained.

As far as i am aware, no. The Haldex 4x4 system in VW's is very good though. If you get a controller you can adjust the gearbox. 100% of the power to the rear or front, or whatever torque split you want, very impressive!

Benni, i "think" the Audi is a full time 4wd system, and the R32 is the hadlex system, whereby its 2wd most of the time and 4wd when it needs to be.

Dont know about the S3 but on the r32 you can take out a fuse and drive it front wheel drive (not that you would want to though)! Theres loads of videos on you tube showing them on the dyno just driving their front wheels

That would be useful for a top speed run I guess? So there not the same system then. Part of me thinks an S line with the S3 kit would be the best of both worlds. haha.
