Default just scanned in an old pic of a crashed RS500

Just found this picture in the loft that I took at the rsoc national day in 1995, I was on track in my rs turbo at the time and was stood on the pitwall when the guy lost the back end exiting goddards and ploughed into the pit wall

the damage wasn't too bad but even back then getting the parts will have been a pain, is the car still around the reg is E300VKB

excuse the crap pic but I had to blow the dust off my old scanner!

also one I took on my phone of the picture, seems better!

Think I was there that day on the other side of the track, heard the crash and run up but to far away to see.

Maybe totally wrong but didn't he get the insurance to cough up and got it sorted??

Guys see the car in the flesh you would see it's as straight as a dye , it must be the camera angle , and the new owners is fully aware that the cars had work .

i was at national day when it happened- mike and martin lobb ran the 500 club way back then- both top guys
i had a 500 at the time

the strut brace cause a lot of damage to the car by pushing the front end over- but it was fully repaired and was mint afterwords

mike took me out in the car at one of the track days organized by the club at wroughton air field- certainly not afraid to use it

some of the others i remember were -daren barber, andy lloyd, jason from amber, tinker, les

mark from mad was there too in his car giving it large on the track -545bhp i think later sold to bruce

still got the group photo from the day somewhere

any one know what happend to martin lobb- was a very nice guy who loved his car but have not heard anything of him in years

Wasnt this the rs500 that was for sale in harlow essex a couple of years back that everyone was really suspect about due to dodgy engine work.

i think neilm went to look at and said was really bad.

The 500 front bumpers are quite flexible and it takes ages to get them lined up properly when you first fit them, its nothing to do with the straightness of the car, you can see in the pic its not been fitted quite straight and does not follow the line of the grille. It would only take a couple of minutes fettling to get it looking right if you have done a few.
