Default What's with Staffordshire Bull Terriers?

The prices for them are out of this world!

I've decided to get another dog as a bit of company for my King Charles, and having a 2 year old, decided that the 'nanny' dog is a great choice, i just can't get over people paying 1000 quid for one, especially one with a gene defiency i.e. Blue!

Does anyone know any breeders, or anyone with some genuine staff pups near to Kent. Ideally i'd like one with paperwork, or at least see mum and dads paperwork so i know what the dog will grow to be, rather than some cross breed.

I'd also like to point out that i'm not a 19 year old chav who'll get bored in a week, but a 34 year old with a loving home to offer a pup!

have also tried the rescue centres by the way, thought that may be a good idea after xmas!

Stops the rif raf buying , genuine people will part with money.
I know of english bull breeders, who make people sign contracts that if they dont keep the dog it must go back to them.

How exspensive have you been quoted??? just seen the 1k thats a fooking joke for a staffie, dont care how good it may be /

Excatley mate! I am a genuine person, but there's no way I'm paying 1k for one!

I would like a blue tbh, but I'm not sure i wanna pay 300 for a normal one!

I've even been quoted 200 for a cross breed with no papers(obviously!), jabs or fuck all!

Looks like another poor dog will end up going to a chav somewhere because of stupid prices!

They are very expensive pups to buy, that's for sure. My mate bought one recently and paid £600.

I'd love a bulldog, but they are even worse at 1500 to 2k!

£1000!!!!! going rate for a blue is around £700. Heard of people getting them for around £500 WITH papers. Although,i have two myself, a black and white (runt of the litter) and a sandy/ginger male with a tail in the shape of a no 7!!! niether of them are pedigree, yet they are the most wonderful, best temperment dogs you could ask for. The male actually tries to play with cats and is too stupid to realise the cat is trying to hurt him,and he got scared when a jack russel barked at him lol. Got such lovely characters i think its impossible to find a better breed of dog.
A few of my mates have pedigree staffs and they have all had problems with them with skin problems, bad temperment etc....could just be them as i know every dog is different.......£1000 is still steep.........but i wouldnt be fussed about having papers

i absoluteley love staffs, i have 2 ,both of them were rehomed with me, try the staffie rescue mate there are loads of cracking dogs just waiting for a second chance in a loving home, i got my bitch from there when she was 9 months old. she is nearly 5 now and i couldnt ask for a better dog

its good if the prices are high on them might stop some of the scum owning them

This is what i mean mate, no disrespect at all, but if that was me, i'd be a bit wary that i wasn't giving 200 sods for a mongrel.

I'm sure that yours were proper, but prospective buyers may not

The very first staffy I ever encountered was bought from a less than reputable breeder. My friends mum fell for her becasue she "wanted to rescue her from the owners".

She had a genetic problem with her spine, so eventually ended up costing more in the long run for various operations and vets bills.
