been doing a bit of thinking its not to long till my b-day so im gonna treat my self to an ecu im useing megasquirt on my project at the moment but think i mite up grade to some think a bit more popular

so im just looking for some idears

what are you lot useing?
and how much did it cost you?
did you buy new or second hand?
how have you found it?

Theres loads, but tbh, who ever will be your choice to map it, will probably have a preferred ECU to work with, Your best of choosing a tuner, and then going from there.


ECU Choices go as far as the eye can see, DTA, Omex, Autronic, VEMS, Megasquirt, MoTec, GoTech, Weber, Mfi (), theres loads...

There are so many good ecu's out there...

I woudd recomend Pectel T2 or Omex as these seem to be popular choices for that conversion type and anyone can map them

You could add cossie managment but that limits who can set them up for you.


Pectel T2 is about Ł700 ish quid (Reyland can get these IIRC)

Omex is about Ł450+ depending on version

You will need a new loom no matter which ecu you use !

Have you actually fired it up and used it yet?

For the money i expect you want to pay you won't do much better.

Last time i did anything with omex i thought it was a pile o'shite.

Gotech is probably ok but will be soldered by a a bunch of orphan child refugees from zimbabwe on 20p a day. So not gaining any thing there.

yea ive had it running but im holding back at the minit ill get some infuseasem??? (dam spelling) soon and crack on with it.

i seem to have made it a bit worse. i was trying to calibrate my air temp sensor as it was working just well out of spec. and i downloaded a step by step guide in the guide it said somethink about bridging 2 wires out on the ms board so i did when prompted and now i dont get any reading at all

a mate of mine has a ms2 v3? witch is more up to date than mine and ive looked at his soft where and it seem alot more user friendly as in easyer to calibrate all the sensors i was tempted buy it as he owe me some favors but just got thinking abouth types of manigment
