Default xr2i slowwwwww starting

Hi all ive got a 1600 8v xr2i, it is a bit of a nightmare to start in the morning and runs very lumpy, i replaced the leads and plugs this has now got rid of the rough running (sort of) Still takes forever to start so i changed the battery and still no luck. It will take a good 25 seconds of turnin the key till it decides to fire and for the first 10 seconds once started it runs very rough and keeps trying to die. Anyone got any idea's Tom
