Default when was the last time you proper launched your car

when was it, you REALLY launched it off the lights ?

i never do it as i cant afford another clutch/gearbox but i was bored today,, roads are a little DEAD DEAD DEAD

so i did,,,,, it was soo much fun i had to do it at the next lights (who would have thought livng in london has a bonus hidden),,,,,, again sooo much fun,,,,,,, well then the smell of clutch at the next lights reminded me why i never do it

i forgot how well it launches,,,,, maybe its all the suspension work ive had done perhaps but it was fun

that is all

TBH never properly launched with in regards to slipping my foot straight off the clutch - always held it just below biting point revs at 4k and done it that way..

the last time i launched it hard was the last time i drove it. the clutch disintegrated into a hundred bits and the centre bearing on the prop shat itself along with cracking the diff mounts

its all good and strong now with extra strengthening welded in though and all cleaned up and waxoiled underneath whilst its off the road. every cloud has a silver lining.it allowed me to get the car off the road and get the little jobs that werebuilding up.

Erm, about 11 months ago

I was in Sunbury picking my mate up, and pulled up at some lights, I heard this drone which wasn't my car, Looked over and it was another Pulsar.. Shocked at seeing another on the road, I wound the window down and had a chat, Roads were dead as it was about 11pm on a week night, about a mile straight, 3 sets of lights, we was a the first set... both gave it some, I got the lead, he then whipped me... got to 2nd set, he then properly fucking anal fucked me... got to 3rd set, and talked some more.

He had about 380bhp to my puny 274bhp.... Was fun, and I bet it sounded/looked good seeing two go at it from the lights

The Nova loves a 7k sidestep, just sits on the spot like is chained to the ground. Get no clutch slip doing the same in 2nd, just get as teeny teeny little bit more forward motion lol

Have to really feather the throttle to get it cleanly off the line tho.........

mate having seen alot of cars go sideways,,, yeah its practise but fuck it up and you look a cunt,,,, ill never forget loosing the back end of my saph when i was rushing home to watch top gear,,,,,,, left, right, left right left,,,,,, through red light that i was trying to catch and miss my turning,,,,,

yeah MUCH better than just nailing it then taking the corner in 2nd and nailing it again upto speed then wait for the next lights to change

This is just going to turn into another "oh guess what I did" - "well I did it bigger / better / crazier" thread.

And the drive types debate has already started - yawn!

Regardless of what you're driving it can be fun! I've got a 4wd Sub with adjustable diff so I get the best of both worlds.

But like many, I only do it now and again (preferably when it's wet) as I feel sorry for the drivetrain (and I'm Scottish so don't like spending money!).

the 2wd vs 4wd is always gonna be a debate,,,, i find you need to ask someone whos owned all of em,,, though that is cause i was AGAINST 4wd untill i tried it,,, then i changed my mind,,,,,, basically im converted

Same, I had never drove a 4x4 until I bought my Pulsar, but had driven a few RWD saphs, 200sx and a few BMW's.. I love RWD, But the 4x4 IS fun, People think its not fun as all four wheels are playing..

Four wheel donuts and drifts are

youll never get the same quick launches and cornering in a 2wd than in a 4wd but i prefer rwd for fun. i was thinking about 4wd conversion on my bmw though....

I still havent done it in over 3 years of ownership just cant bring myself to do it!
I've done a box and am on my 3rd clutch, all without a full on launch.
I'm less shy with lighting it up in the wet or icy conditions.
