Hi Guys,
I have been looking at changing the Cayman and this is an option, what do you guys know about these cars and think of this one?
http://www.dealers.motortrak.com/det...006&vidindex=3
They also have a standard looking GT3 and a nice GT2
Cheers

I think thats really nasty to be honest mate
Trying to be something its not...
GT3's are awesome though. The Atlas grey one on the same site is gorgeous!!! Very exciting to drive and sound amazing. I think you might prefer a Turbo on the road though... effortless grunt
GT2... awesome and very special... I WOULD crash one and be very scared of driving one hard as they WILL BITE....
if you think you can drive sensibly then go GT2! I'm too hot headed and drive like a wanker.... therefore I will NEVER get a GT2!

Thanks Lee, i have seen it in person and it looks great very clean, the Atlas grey one looks very bland, i worked on your basis of killing myself in the GT2, they have a nice 997 turbo there which is nice,
Would you think that thats a fair price for it though?

997 Turbo Seen them below £60k now... surely thats the one mate! £65k gets a nice one.
I know the Atlas grey one looks bland... but I like it. Classy as hell...
The RS lookalike in red is very garish... and being non original (RS spolier and made up graphics etc etc) you will alienate alot of potential sellers when the timne comes to sell...
if you like it though. Go for it! its certainly striking!
I think £53k is too much myself.

Judging by our "spirited" 10 min drive yesterday you would be better off in a GT2!!!!

The non orginal bit concerns be because l guess in original condition you will still attract purists when you come to sell it, the Silver 997 Turbo looks nice it has the tiptronic would probably get on fine but never driven a car with it for any length of time.

ive only got limited experience but when i drove a 997 i really hated the tiptronic it's a manually selectable auto not a manual.
i hear the new PDK is the bollocks tho but thatll be late cars that command proper money

ring your local porsche dealer and explain youre looking at a 997 but dont kow which one, they host days where you get to test drive all the 911s in the range and they should invite you along to their next one.
then buy one secondhand and save a fortune

The words Cars, Command, Money and Proper should not be used in the same sentence these days!!!!
A bit like using the words.....Porsche Cayenne, Economical, Residuals, Amazing, Down, Pants, Tyres and Cheap together in my house...
or......M3, well, wet and handles.
I would say anyone who has bought a PDK car has properly been caught with their trousers properly down thinking they could have got a premium and now looking to escape the carnage!
So now is the time to spank them on price!!!
See Captains post below.....The car market and especially super, luxury market is totally foooobarred and still plummeting!

2nd actually I think....The first was about 200 yards from my house if you remember overtaking Idge on his Fizzie 50 when my shiny carbon rear arches nearly met with your fronts!!!
Anyway.....Back to the GT3 in this topic. I actually quite like it as something a little different. I think the Red suits a GT3 and its a nice spec. Agree with Lee though. Overpriced and he is not gonna be shifting it quick so maybe make a silly offer or hold on?
To be fair you could buy any GT3 and get the graphics made and the wheels properly painted for £1K. It does have an all round nice spec though for a GT3 if your gonna use it on the road. (Ex the cage of course)

997 turbos are awesome bits of kit,my second chioce would be 996 gt2,but be prepared for a nasty shock on the cayman trade in mike!!,thats if you havent got a private buyer!

I think it looks ok but as said with the add ons it will limit the market if you go to sell on. The 997 turbo on his site looks nice but not as nice as the silver 430
Lee what is the normal power split on a 996 turbo, i take it is mainly rwd going by the youtube vids of them with smoke pouring from the rear

RC4 i have been told some where in the 30's the trouble is i like most other people hate losing money or excess money on my cars, i held out for strong money on my Evo and would do the same with the Cayman, she has a great spec and has just done 9060miles in a little over a year.
What do people think is a good price for the GT3?
Thanks

i found that any porsche with either a "rs" or "cs" badge always hold there money better
i mean look at the 1973 2,7,rs 996 gt3 rs,968 cs.911 3.2 cs etc fuck they hold there money,if i was going to buy a porsche it would deffo have a cs or rs badge
but go for it mate!

Im into red cars esp Porkers but dont like that red with those graphics. Also its seriously overpriced imo.
A 997 turbo is a far nicer road car than either a gt3 or the widowmaker aka GT2.
Just dont lift off the throttle when going over any crests in the road like I did!
I just wish they would do a Cayman turbo
