The duckams 3dr sierra cosworth advert car and a 2 stroke mk3 fiesta.
General Car Related Discussion. To discuss anything that is related to cars and automotive technology that doesnt naturally fit into another forum catagory.
duckhams were into motorsport and i just about remember the ad, the car could be seen with the front engine rotating iirc and driving.
duckhams did sponsor frank meagher in a 3dr cosworth in ireland (former irish tarmac rally champ rip).
nice pics glenn even if the 500's number plate is wonky
Thanks mate i thought i would share it with all you ford nuts lol.The rs500 was ok it just needed a good polish cause it was covered with swirl marks.I got told the bloke who owns it takes it out for a drive every now and then.
assuming that they did, did ford give one to them or did they by one?
The conversion was done in Chesterfield by Rob Haynes (later involved in the Bowler 4x4s). Duckhams bought the Cosworth brand new from Kennings in Chesterfield and delivered it to be converted. I can remember Rob turning up at the donut in Chesterfield just after it had been completed.

it looks simple, but there is a lot of fancy engineering going on not just under the bonnet either
i remember when the ads were on first time around and i was like "wow!"
i went last week its good if you live close but we stayed in bideford bay in devon for the week at were from derbyshire i would recomend it great day out i enjoyed it
The sierra does have disabled controls. The two stroke fiesta was used by a couple of police forces in the UK at the time for evaluation. Complete opposites but the best two cars there imo are the Duesenberg and that 2T fiesta..

Actually the Duckhams Cosworth was built in Chesterfield by my special effects company being converted from a second-hand vehicle which I purchased in Northampton. We took six weeks to complete it - I directed the TV commercial.
