Trouble is who would wanna buy one with half a ton of filler on it
It would not last a british winter thats for sure and as for those spacers
its only a TV program but it woud be nice to see a British version of overhaulinwere proper paint and mods are done to a tasteful car

Errrr....... Can't see how some of the cars even passed an MOT. (Wheel spacers ! ! ! ) Some of them are death traps.
We need something equivalent to Boyd Coddington, Overhaulin etc.
If the americans see Chop Shop then they'll think were all a bunch of bodgers over here. Chop Shop is almost at the point of embarrassing for anyone with an engineering/mechanical background.
And the crap that baldie comes out with about engines is a joke. Surely he can't be a "Time Served Mechanic" ??????

That black E36 was at Santa Pod a couple of years ago for a 'grand unveiling'. It looked utterly hideous and up close the workmanship was shocking.
Their cars remind me of that game where someone draws a head, then folds the paper over, and the next person draws the body and folds it over, and so on.
It does make for amusing telly but the cars are fit for scrap IMHO.

Its the car equivalent of changing rooms, where everything is knocked up in a rush out of mdf and is shit and doesnt last and looks rubbish up close.
Good telly though for people who arent into cars enough to spot the flaws, they do a great job in the time/budget given so im sure they are actually quite talented, in terms of the concepts at least, if not the implementation sometimes, would be good to see them with a proper set of resources and a decent budget.

Surely the BBC/Discovery etc must be able to come up with something that reflects a better image of the car scene to make a decent petrol heads program than this. There's enough good car builders on this web site never mind all the Retro Web Sites and Turbosport etc.
Really hope they read some of these posts.

Bollocks to that, it would cost a fortune to do properly, and would no longer be low budget high profit television.
There are nowhere near enough petrol heads for a PROPER car program, thats why top gear is a load of dramatised bollocks too, so it appeals to non petrol heads and semi petrol heads too, its not aimed at the likes of us lot, we're too niche.

I know what your saying, and from a production point of view your right, they have to gear the program to the massess. But on the other hand, the guy who does "A car is born", A Plane is Born, A Bike is Born........ etc seems to do ok out of it. And does it in a way that people appreciate and watch it, and at the same time produces quite high quality results and does things properly.

fucking awful bags of shite.
would you really want to drive this shit box?
it's go wheel spaces the length of Heathro's North runway - it looks awful, it sounds awful and i have no doubt in my mind that it has the cornering ability of a snooker table.

All the cars they have done were spot on... Did you see the blue shelby, how cool was that!! The strips and the paint on that car were spot on.
I loved that Range Rover, Proper fabrication in their jobs. I know what you mean about people getting fired every week, and his shop enforcer is a big old lump.
That Beemer above looks like it has been T boned
