Martooooooooon be careful matey, they are still dropping like rocks.

Porkie how can you say it wont go below 45k?? Did you think your 45k 996 would be worth 22k after 18 months. No you didn't, to be honest no one saw that one coming.

Martin I have driven two of them, both manual cars, one an easrly (53 plate) Orange one that might actually be up for sale, (I have just called my mate and left a message). The other was an 08 plate convertable manual. They are great cars, awesome sound, but you WILL be bored of it in a month.

The Orange one I speak of has had 6 clutches in it in 30,000 miles. Russ would use it for track days, but it was too slow and used copious amounts of brakes, bushes and stuff.

His silver one that was brand new in March this year had a new engine fitted last month at 6,000 miles because it melted a piston!!!!!!! The engine was Ł38,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god for the warranty on that one.

He tried to trade his early one in for his new one but the dealer only offered him 60k a year ago!!

He rents them out for weddings and stuff (not self drive though), that is why he went for another one as it is the most popular car. He also has (F360, Bentley continental, Astons etc)

Front spoilers are a fortune, as is all the body work.

The other thing is the service history, I agree that you could do a better job than a main dealer when it comes to looking after it, but that isn't going to matter when you come to sell it. One of these things without a full service history, given the number of expensive niggles that they have will be worth a lot less than a FLSH car.

And if you spend 60k now, it WILL only be worth 45k in 1 years time and probably 35k a year later.

Plus I don't think 60k will get you a car that is still in warranty, eventhough clutches aren't covered anyway.

If you want a go in one, let me know and we will pop up and see Russ and he will let you have a spin.

Sean..

Shonky... don't talk him out of it!

I made that error with you!

I DID see it coming... I told you the world was foooked 2 years ago remember!

I just then decided it was too scary to think about any more and so decided to put my head firmly back in the sand

Yeah i saw sense and nearly bought an F430 instead. lol

If he wants one, he wants one, but I will try and get him to see the light. You know what Martoon is like when he looses money on anything, I honestly don't think his flux capacitor could take a 15k hit in one year!!!!!

Thats what I was bid on it by a dealer as I fancied a change... but the dealer was an ass and don't think she wanted me to sell haha! Its worth alot more really... in fact its still worth Ł50k and the world is great... all my stocks and properties are hunky dory as well lalala... its lovely down here in this sand lalala

you can get 996Turbos below Ł30k now though! OR you can get a new Focus? hmmmm.... now there is a tough call

He is quite frankly an amazing saleman.... I have seen him in action with his customers and its awesome...

However he is also the worlds EASIEST person to sell to....

He will ALWAYS buy the first car he sees and ALWAYS get talked into the most expensive appliance or whatever else he needs at the time!

Its hilarious!

The new Lambo's have good build quality, considering who owns them. But something that doesn't brake just isn't fun

If you've always wanted a Lambo Martin and the speed ain't all that to you, why don't you go for a more aesthetic Countach model?

What do you need/want to know Martin? I've had mine for two years now and always planned to sell it when my balloon came up............didn't though and just settled that and am planning to keep it forever.

Great car, no problems with it except minor teething issues in the first 3 months, its crap on fuel, is on the std clutch, E gear is awesome, get R888's as soon as possible, servicing is very reasonable, build quality great, no fires experienced, launch control is seriously cool................... Can't think of anything else????

Except I am pissed I have lost 53K in 2 years because of the crap economy. The way I see it though if you buy now or early/mid next year and keep until we come out of the shit we're in you won't lose a penny. If you buy from an auction then I suspect you will get one for much cheapness, loads of people can't refinance them at the moment so they are being repossesed or given back.

Anything ive missed just shout mate.

Cheers

Si

p.s. BUY BUY BUY

thing is the cheap ones unless your lucky are abit er doggy... I tried to view a 36 grand 2001 plate 996 silver, but it wasnt there instead i viewed a 45 grand 53 plate silver I asked the guy how the more expensive one compared to the cheaper one and he said it was nicer I made my excuses and left cos the 53 plate and his other stock just looked tired usually unless you get lucky bargin money wont get you a minter....
