Default Sky HD Lip Sync Problems

Has anybody else experienced this?

I'd heard of people getting sound before pictures when watching HD programming on early boxes, because of the processing needed for the HD images...

But, I seem to be getting the image before the sound!!

It does it on both normal and HD programmes

Sometimes it's hardly noticable and sometimes it's terrible!

Any ideas would be great?

Oh and another small issue, was using the RF2 output on my old Sky + box to get sky in another room and it was all good

Since having the HD box installed, there's interferance on the TV recieving the RF signal

Help, please...

RF2 should work fine.... What kind of interference?

Is the delay problem just with sky or with dvd's too? What kind of TV / sound system are you using? Plasma tv's have a processing delay in the order of 10-30ms depending on design (and price!). If you have no digital processing in your a/v amp then there is no latency, therefore sound will come out before picture. Most digital a/v receivers/amps include delay adjusment (often under the title of 'speaker distance'), which you could try fiddling with.

What connections are you using for audio and video?

Go to set up and sound settings, you can adjust the delay in there

Wahay! Cheers guys! Setting the time delay seems to have it spot on

I don't know why i didn't think of that before

The best way I can describe the interference on the RF is...wavy lines.

It's intermittent though and varies in how bad it is.

I though prehaps there was something outputting on a similar channel (was present to sixty something I think) so I changed the RF channel, but it still does it

i had to fiddle with the delay on the surround amp when i first got it rigged up
then i found out that i needed to be using the same lenght speaker wire and setting the delay and adjusting fuck knows what else onthe system

but now it works fine and was worth the hassle of setting up

but i wasn't aware of it being on the sky box, i might have saved myself a lot of hassle

Same length speaker wire? My arse!! The propogation speed of the electric field through copper wire is so fast as to negate this as a problem in any domestic situation.
