Default New Focus RS Options!!!

Just went down to Alperton Ford and was chatting to one of the sales guys there about the options available.

Now i am pretty sure that they said there would be a Full Leather option but he could only find info on it having just Half Leather. Is that true or am i missing something?

I'm pretty disappointed with the car at the moment. I mean for 25k i would of AT LEAST Expected Brembo Brakes and that spoiler is a after thought, i'd change it to the ST spoiler lol

The Key free is a joke in my eyes. That car should not have Key Free strictly because every tom, dick and harry is going to try nick one to joyride about in. Its just like Clarkson said, It will leave you paranoid about your car cos you won't know if it's locked or not lol

The Sat Nav did interest me. Anyone got one of Fords Sat Navs? Any good?

anyone who has actually tried key free will know when it is isn't locked - its only mr c that over sensationalises it and that particular stunt on TG was a set up - they key ONLY works within a few feet of the car - not 20-30 foot like they showed- you have to press the button on the handle to lock it - it is no less secure than if you only ever used the key to start it as the key is the imobiliser transponder.

Im actually now thinking of buying a used one. I can't justify that price for a new one. I'm sure it'll be a great car but £30K for a RS with Options? No Thanks.

Would of loved a Black one but that went out the window. So blue it shall be!!!

why the hangup on brembos - you want brakes that WORK - not look all shiney and red and then discolour to dog shite brown when they've had a caining.

the current ST brake setup (320mm)uses the largets std discs fitted to any production uk ford,

the discs and calipers were developed for ford by continental and work well.

It uses Volvo XC90 calipers I believe - designed to stop a much heavier 4x4...

Would be nice to have had Brembos on though... Guess this will be a popular upgrade.

an UPGRADE would be a set of 355mm AP 6 pots, brembos are just a cosmetic re touch IMO.

There should be a keyhole either on the passenger or drivers door (sometimes under a cover) so in the eventuality that it fails, or the batterys in both remotes die you should still be able to get IN the car, possibly not start it though until you get new batterys in your remote

Was reading Evo magazine and the renault R26 with smaller discs and brembo calipers stopped a fair bit quicker than the ST and theres not a huge differance in weight.

I don't think Brembo 4 pot calipers can be compared to standard ST calipers purely in cosmetic terms.

I would love to have a new RS but 30k i would buy a concours 500 over a FRS any day, in a few years when it's around £10k i may consider it as a daily runner.

hmmm i say by the end of 2010 early 2011 you'll be able to get one for 16/17k and that's with low mileage if you look hard enough for one. No focus will keep a value over 20k.
