they were just std 4wd cosworth calipers front and rear on an exchange basis, carnt remember what i paid though
wether they were single pot of alloy 4 pots, i dont think there is that much difference in putting new seals and dust covers on and replacing any worn pistons or shafts etc

BigRed are a top quality firm. Know what they are doing. Small outfit but customer service is up there with the best of them. Have seen a few items that have come from them, and finish is always of the best.
If you want rebuild kits yourself, they are good and cheap as well. Had a set of pistons for standard RS Turbo calipers, about £9 each brand new and machined from a piece of billet. Better than the normal refurb stuff you get from the local motor factors.

The reason for my post is i have just had a pair of Bembo callipers done, The finish is very poor and nothing like the original finish. It is mat red and very dry/ textured finish and looks very porous.
There are other major issues but just would like to know about this finish. You could do much better with a tin of paint and brush.

If so, send them back, as it does not sound like one of their usual quality jobs....

There are other more serious issues but will not go into it on here as i will give them a chance to put them right.
My main issue is this red paint they have put on

20K+ Super Poster.
The red is a fleuropolymer coating that is to resist rust etc, and does the job fantastically, but if not happy with other things tell them, always found them to be seriously concerned about customers and always a good job/service.

Right just got of the phone from Bigg Red and i am not getting very far!
sent them a pair of ATE 4pot alloy callipers from a Ferrari to be remanufactured as they list on their web site http://www.biggred.co.uk/process.html
Now is states that they change all 4 pistons and seals with me so far, Ok well i got the cailpers back and paid £278.90. What i got for my money is
Badly painted callipers, the finish is very mat and very porous finish, nothing like what you get say with brembos.
Only 2 out of the 8 pistons were changed and the 2 changed are made from steel and not alloy and 1 of them is not the right type.
They cut off the stainless steel crossover pipe and replaced it with copper pipe that is way too big and will foul on the inside of the wheel .
They have cross threaded where the brake pipe screws in to the calliper.
They reused the bolts that hold the 2 half of the calliper together and left them bear uncoated steel, these will rust when they get wet and look very bad.
They say they did not have the right pistons so they just fitted some they had lying around !
The copper pipes they say
The problem is the threads are now stripped and there in not much room for a helicoil.
Bit pissed i can tell you

"We do not offer a replacement of copper pipes, we merely did these because we had some pipe available and the time. They are neither costed in the price or advertised as a service."
