Default track car dilemma, help!!!

As most of you know this is my track car an xr4x4 with a cossie 24v engine, the car has evolved in the 3 years I have owned it from a rusty knacker to a nice well presented reasonably quick and most importantly reliable track car complete with 4x4 cos suspension/brakes.It is sat in my unit now ready for it's next outing and needs nothing bar a wash..

BUT I have just been offered a k plate 4x4 saph cosworth very cheap with minor front end damage (needs 1 wing and the front crossmember in front of rad) the engine, box, front engine bed, suspension etc.have been removed for a kit car project the rest of the car is there interior, kit, rear axle wheels etc

now then I could quite easy fix the saph then transplant the front end engine, box, suspension from my xr into it and even swop over the cage etc..
the car would be more presentable then and to be honest I have always prefered the saph to the hatch and a saph cos track car really appeals to me with out the high costs of a yb ..

what you reckon??

steve

sounds like a lot of effort, for very little gain.

As that man.

Saphs are ok, but I really like your car, always loved XR4x4s. Especially being driven properly

But if thats what you want go for it.

As above I can't see the point. Xr4x4's are getting quite rare these days so that makes it very cool and you wouldn't see any benefit on track for all of your time and effort.

Oh right, he did say near Yarm to be honest. It is magenta though aint it?

As said above too, can't see any advantage going for the saff over the hatchback shell really. If it was going to be cossie though then that would be different.

Steve, will it be worth doing just so your track car looks like a saff cos.

its just going to be the same at the end engine wise etc...
